Hi Lance, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
In 2011 I relocated from Connecticut to San Diego, California to attend Thomas Jefferson School of Law, where I studied property and tax law. Upon graduation, I immediately began working for a 1031 exchange company and quickly developed a passion for the real estate industry. I worked really hard and it paid off, and within two years, I became the company’s top performer. However, my arrogance led me to ask the owners for a stake in the company, a request they were understandably not enthusiastic about. The situation became tense, and I decided to plan for my future by saving money to start my own company. On December 17, 2011, I founded Growth 1031, Inc.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The journey has been anything but easy. Breaking into the real estate industry with a niche service like 1031 exchanges proved to be a significant challenge. However, through relentless networking, strategic marketing, and a strong commitment to education—delivering numerous seminars and resources—my company has successfully established itself as a trusted, reliable brand known for its deep expertise in the field.
