Inspiring Conversations with Louis Supan of Loucid Eatz The Experience

Today we’d like to introduce you to Louis Supan.

Louis Supan

Hi Louis, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
As a young child, I was a passionate home cook with dreams of becoming a professional chef. My culinary journey began in my small kitchen, experimenting with recipes and learning from cookbooks and online resources. I didn’t have formal training, but my love for food drove me to improve my skills.

As I honed my cooking abilities, I decided to take a leap of faith and pursue a career in the culinary world. I enrolled in one of the country’s most prestigious culinary academies school, which required taking on student loans to cover tuition fees. This decision brought financial struggles as I juggled part-time jobs to make ends meet while attending classes.

Balancing work, school, and personal life was challenging, but my determination kept me going. I dedicated long hours to studying, practicing in the kitchen, and managing my finances. Despite the hardships, I knew that this path was my true calling.

Upon graduation, I faced a pivotal moment. I had acquired the skills and knowledge to be a professional chef, but the financial burden of student loans still loomed large. I decided to take control of my destiny by opening my own restaurant. This venture wasn’t without risks, but it was a dream I couldn’t ignore.

Running my restaurant demanded immense dedication and hard work. I had to manage a team, create enticing menus, and ensure exceptional dining experiences for customers. It was a rollercoaster of highs and lows, but I persevered.

In addition to my restaurant, I pursued another passion: fitness. I opened a gym to help others achieve their health and fitness goals. Balancing these two businesses, along with my culinary career, was a challenge, but it allowed me to follow multiple passions and be a mentor to others.

Over the years, I not only found success in my restaurant and gym but also became a mentor to aspiring chefs and fitness enthusiasts. I offered cooking classes, personal training sessions, and guidance to help them reach their goals, just as I had once done.

Today, I look back at my journey with a sense of pride and fulfillment. I’ve evolved from a self-taught home cook into a professional chef and entrepreneur despite the financial struggles and sacrifices along the way. My story is a testament to the power of passion, hard work, and determination in turning dreams into reality and helping others achieve theirs.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My journey from a self-taught chef to a successful professional chef, entrepreneur, and mentor was far from smooth. Along the way, she encountered numerous struggles and challenges that tested her resilience and determination.

One of the most significant challenges I faced was financial hardship. Balancing the costs of paying rent for my place, managing my car expenses, running my gym, repaying my student loans, and ensuring there was food on the table was an immense burden. At times, it seemed like an insurmountable task, and I often found myself on the brink of financial instability.

To make ends meet, I had to work tirelessly, often holding down two jobs while attending culinary school. This grueling schedule left me with little time for myself and no social life to speak of. I sacrificed leisure and personal time to focus on education and career aspirations.

There were moments when I feared I might become homeless due to the sheer weight of my financial responsibilities. The stress of managing it all took a toll on me physical and emotional well-being. But through it all, I remained committed to my goals and the promise I had made to myself and my beloved grandmother. My journey is a reminder that with passion, hard work, and perseverance, even the most challenging obstacles can be overcome.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Self-drive is a vital component to success. When you have a passion, in order to pursue it, you need to put in some serious work, and with that comes sacrifice. Sacrifice is what discourages people and makes them question if they should be following their dreams or not. If you have self-drive, you stay focused. You remember why you started in the first place. You take count of the things you accomplished and continue to move forward at all costs.
