Hi Mari, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey into the beauty industry began after many years of working as a senior caregiver, where I developed a deep passion for helping others feel cared for and confident. Once my children grew older and more independent, I decided it was time to pursue a lifelong dream I had always held close to my heart. I went back to school to study skincare and aesthetics, dedicating myself to learning everything I could about health, beauty, and self-care. That decision led to the creation of Beauty Spa by Mari, a place where I can combine my nurturing nature with my love for helping others look and feel their best every day
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Becoming a licensed esthetician was not an easy journey for me. After many years away from school, I faced challenges adjusting to studying again—especially with English being my second language. I also had to learn how to use a computer and complete online assignments, which was completely new to me. There were moments of doubt and nerves, especially when it came time to take my final exams, but I pushed through every obstacle with determination. Looking back, those challenges made my success even more meaningful and strengthened my confidence as a business owner today.

At Beauty Spa by Mari, I specialize in customized skincare treatments designed to help clients look and feel their absolute best. What truly sets my spa apart is the warm, welcoming atmosphere I create—I take the time to get to know each client and tailor every treatment to their unique skin needs. I proudly use vegan, natural, and gentle products that are safe for all skin types, ensuring every service is both effective and kind to the skin. I’m most proud that my brand represents self-care, confidence, and natural beauty.
