Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Brehman.
Hi Megan, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I received my coaching certification in 2008. Though I felt compelled and passionate about helping women discover their potential, I was terrified of failure. This fear and my limiting beliefs stopped me from going all in and granted me only side hustle results.
In 2015, I stopped coaching and pursued what I thought was a more stable career in tech. However, in 2019, after two unfortunate lay-offs and a deep feeling that my life was out of alignment, I decided to relaunch my coaching business. Only this time, I was committed to dismantling self-doubt and succeeding. emerge life design has been a full-time operation for the past three-plus years!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Putting myself out there for a second time was terrifying. Each social media post, pitch to friends and family, and consultation call left me with a knot in my stomach. However, if coaching has taught me anything, confidence comes from taking messy, scary actions.
Being an entrepreneur is a rollercoaster, both financially and emotionally. I did not always know if I would have enough money to pay for rent, but I knew it would eventually fall into place if I kept grinding. I have had months, especially in the beginning, where I received no new clients. I learned not to take rejection personally and that my continued time and effort would not always amount to short-term success.
I wouldn’t trade this journey for anything. I am passionate about helping women become the most empowered versions of themselves and create lives that truly light them up. Their successes are all I need to reassure me of this path.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
emerge life design focuses on helping women level up their professional and personal lives. I primarily teach millennial women how to begin their coaching businesses and I also assist women of all ages in reaching for more in the corporate world. Besides my emphasis on professional coaching, I also integrate holistic practices, such as wellness, life purpose, and relationships, so that each client receives a well-rounded sense of fulfillment that radiates into each facet of their lives.
I offer virtual 1:1 and small group coaching. Every six months, I host an in-person retreat for my clients that promotes connectivity. My clients rave about these retreats! Many of them have utilized each other for networking opportunities and maintained years-long friendships. I am conscious to make the retreats both fun and impactful.
Lately, I have started hosting corporate workshops. This training aims to teach employees to live their lives with intention. Through clarity and a newly-gained sense of confidence, they can effectively collaborate, communicate and reach for bigger goals.
What matters most to you? Why?
My values are connection, growth, spark, beauty, and creation. As I coach women into alignment, I believe I am helping unleash desperately needed positive energy into the world. Bringing strong females together to connect and transform their lives is the most empowering thing I have ever done.
