Hi Paul, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Attending school in West Covina, I initially pursued a nursing degree in college, driven by a passion for helping others. However, my career path soon shifted to finance, leading me to become a top private financial banker at Chase. In this role, I excelled at helping clients build their financial portfolios, learning great relationship skills that would later prove invaluable.

However, the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 brought an unexpected turning point. With my career in finance cut short, I looked into exploring a real estate career and connect with my clients. Determined to make a fresh start, I enrolled in real estate courses, earned my license, and relocated to San Diego.

Starting from scratch, I built a sphere of influence and reached out to anyone interested in buying properties, applying my financial knowledge and client-focused approach developed in my previous roles. My determination and hard work paid off quickly. By the end of my first year, I was named Rookie of the Year and Regional Rookie of the Year, having completed multiple transactions despite the challenges posed by the pandemic. Helping numerous families find homes during such a difficult time remains a career highlight.

Today, I continue to build my reputation in the real estate industry, known for my expertise in negotiations and finding perfect opportunities for clients. My goal is not just to close deals but to build trust and secure the best possible outcomes for each client. Looking ahead, I aspire to solidify my name in the industry, continuously assisting clients in achieving their dream of homeownership and financial stability.

Balancing a demanding career with personal life, I employ strategies to maintain this equilibrium, driven by the motivation to help others and inspired by my journey from humble beginnings to professional success. My story is a testament to resilience, adaptability, and the power of a helping hand in transforming lives.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like any journey worth taking, there have been plenty of bumps and detours along the way.

One of the biggest struggles was the transition from my career in finance to real estate. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, I lost my job as a financial advisor. It was a huge blow because I had worked so hard to build my career at Chase. I had to reinvent myself and start from scratch in a completely new field. The uncertainty was daunting, and there were moments when I doubted whether I was making the right decision.

Moving to San Diego and starting fresh in a new city was another major challenge. I didn’t have an established network, so I had to build my sphere of influence from the ground up. There were days when it felt like an uphill battle, trying to get my name out there and prove myself in a competitive market.

Financially, it was also tough. Real estate isn’t a field where you see immediate returns, so I had to be patient and persistent. Balancing the financial strain while trying to stay motivated and focused on long-term goals required a lot of resilience.

Despite these struggles, each challenge taught me valuable lessons. Losing my job pushed me out of my comfort zone and forced me to discover a passion for real estate that I might not have explored otherwise. Starting over in a new city taught me the importance of networking, persistence, and the power of building genuine relationships. And the financial struggles reminded me of the importance of strategic planning and maintaining a positive outlook, even when things get tough.

These experiences, though difficult, have shaped who I am today. They’ve made me more adaptable, resilient, and driven to succeed. Every struggle has been a stepping stone, leading me to where I am now.

Understanding your goals will help you find the right mentor. Start with the basics, be consistent, and focus on three things maximum. Leverage all the opportunities that are available for you. Do not overspend. Social media is a great tool to share your message across many viewers and connecting with others that share similar goals. Put your name out there, every day there’s an chance to learn something about your career. Networking is a two-way street. Think about how you can help the people in your network. Whether it’s sharing valuable resources, making introductions, or offering your expertise, contributing to others’ success will strengthen your relationships. 80% of my business comes from social media.
