Hi Robbie , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
An award-winning interior designer, Robbie Harbert Maynard is principal of Robbie Interiors and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Interior Design from San Diego State University. She is NCIDQ and CCIDC certified, has over 30 years of experience and has earned a reputation as one of Southern California’s top interior designers. Specializing in residential and commercial interiors, her residential projects consist of new builds, major remodels, kitchen design and home furnishing projects. She has designed projects ranging from 10,000 square-foot Rancho Santa Fe estates to 1,200 square foot beachfront condos.
Robbie’s work has appeared on the cover of San Diego Home Garden/Lifestyles and has been featured in, Forbes, House Beautiful, Modern Luxury magazine, My Domaine, Apartment Therapy, and BHG.com. She also has been featured nationally on HGTV’s Designer Challenge and published in Better Homes and Gardens magazine. Additionally, she received the prestigious “Home of the Year” Award for Interior Design from San Diego Magazine.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I have been very fortunate to have selected a career that I love and there have not been any struggles.
My clients trust me to guide them through the Interior Design process with confidence. I have gained invaluable experience and knowledge over my 30 years as an interior designer. I guide my clients to make the best selections to elevate their homes and create a cohesive look, that is beautiful and functional and meets all of their specific needs.

Selecting a designer that understands your needs as well as style is key to a seamless and enjoyable project. When you start with a common goal, the entire design process goes much smoother.

We can guide you on how and where to shop for furniture, provide space plans, a design concept plan, project visualization boards and color scheme. Also, we help with selecting paint colors, recommendations to improve the function and flow of your home, whether or not to remodel and give advice on what to keep and what needs to go.

On your new build project, ​it’s a good idea to bring an interior designer in early to work with your architect and contractor. Our service consists of project development and coordination with architects and contractors, review of architectural plans, job site meetings, space planning, concept drawings and elevations, design of fireplaces and custom cabinetry, lighting, tile and finish specifications.
