As a stay at home mom for the past 7 years I have been looking into options for side gigs to make money while also being able to care for my kids. So in January I decided to dive into the travel business world. Turns out I love everything about it!

That’s why I became a travel agent. Like any business, becoming a travel agent has come with its fair share of challenges.
One of the biggest struggles was breaking into a competitive industry and establishing myself as a trusted expert. Travel is constantly evolving—new cruise lines, changing resort policies, and the latest trends in all-inclusive vacations mean there’s always something new to learn. Navigating different booking systems, understanding destination requirements, and ensuring I provide the best service to my clients required a lot of dedication and persistence.
Building a client base from the ground up was another challenge. Social media, marketing, and networking all play a huge role in attracting clients, and I had to figure out the best ways to connect with people who wanted amazing travel experiences. It took time, trial and error, and a lot of learning along the way.
Despite the challenges, I wouldn’t change this journey for anything. Helping people plan unforgettable trips, whether it’s a dream cruise, a luxury escape, or a fun family vacation, makes all the hard work worth it. Seeing my clients create lifelong memories is the most rewarding part of what I do.
