Today we’d like to introduce you to Seth Camhi.
Hi Seth, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Grew up in NY. Did got my BS in Psychology and then MBA in Health Administration at Union College in Schenectady, NY prior to attending Medical School. Did my first couple of years in Medical School at Universidad Autonoma De Guadaljara and finished Medical Schol at New York Medical College in Valhala, NY. Went to Residency at Kingston Family Medicine in Kingston, NY and then did my Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at UCSD upon moving to San Diego. Been in Private Practice since finishing my Fellowship in 2014 and started Katalyst Wellness in 2020.
At Katalyst Wellness, we provide Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy & Primary Care Sports Medicine services while also providing a wide vary of other wellness services (IV therapy, Microneedling, VI Peels, Ozone Therapy and Sauna Therapy) and supplements (pharmaceutical grade vitamins and peptides). Katalyst Wellness was started with the purpose of providing an environment and services which help people stay healthy, prevent illness and age gracefully. If people are willing to invest in their health then we can provide them a tailored program to help them optimize their health.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The health and wellness journey has been just that, a journey. Obviously, there were the challenges associated with getting though medical school, residency and fellowship. Then, you have the challenges of providing health care and wellness services in a society that is based on the insurance model and providing sick care. Being in CA, has been even more of a challenge as there are more regulations in place in terms of the type of supplements you can provide and the things you are able to do. These challenges/struggles come up daily, but are all worth it when you see the results that the patients get. When they are able to do things with family/friends and/or in business that they couldn’t accomplish prior makes the juice worth the squeeze.
As you know, we’re big fans of Katalyst Wellness. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I am the sole owner / medical director. I have an Director of Operations (Carrie) and a Practice Manager (Sierra) to help me with the business side of things. We have a staff of MAs and one RN to assist with day to day operations as well.
We specialize in Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy for both Men and Women of all ages. We provide tailored individual treatment programs based on blood work diagnostics and patient’s goals.
I am most proud of the fact that we are a team/family in the office that works together to help patients reach and obtain their goals.
I would want the readers to know that if patients are willing to invest in their health (both financially and through accountability) that we can help them optimize their health and reach their goals.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned along this journey is that I am just a guide/teacher that assists people reach their goals. Patients need to stay accountable and be willing to do the work for their goals in wellness to be reached.
