Inspiring Conversations with Sina Lamrock of Belle Haven Appraisals & Styles Via Sina

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sina Lamrock.

Sina Lamrock

Hi Sina, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always had a free-spirited heart, drawn to the idea of forging my own path. That instinct has guided me through some of the biggest decisions in my life – like the one I made ten years ago when I left Germany for sunny San Diego. It wasn’t my first leap of faith, but looking back, it feels like the most defining one.

My fascination with the U.S., however, started long before that. Even as a child, something about it intrigued me, though I couldn’t quite explain why. When I first visited the East Coast at 18, everything clicked. I remember calling my parents and saying, I know this sounds strange, but I feel at home here. That feeling stayed with me, and years later, after earning my master’s degree in the UK, I decided to follow that pull. In 2014, through a series of unexpected turns, I put down roots in San Diego to chase the American Dream.

As an only child, my parents weren’t exactly excited at first, but they supported me. They knew my adventurous spirit couldn’t resist the thrill of the unknown. That major leap of faith brought me opportunities I’d never imagined, including a career in real estate that turned out to be both challenging and rewarding. Becoming a Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser wasn’t quick or easy – it took time, perseverance, and a willingness to learn every step of the way. But as I built my career, one thing became clear: I thrived on the independence and autonomy of being my own boss.

There’s something incredibly fulfilling about setting your own goals and creating a life on your terms. The freedom to make my own schedule and take ownership of my success sparked a deeper entrepreneurial drive in me, one that didn’t just shape my career but also reshaped how I approached life as a whole. When I first moved to the U.S., I had to start from scratch – building everything from the ground up. It’s not easy to leave behind everything familiar and create a new life, but it pushed me to grow and become more resourceful. Every step of the way, I learned how to navigate new challenges, make connections, and carve out my place in a completely new environment.

Through it all, I’ve been fortunate to share my journey with my husband, Travis. He’s not only the love of my life but also my greatest supporter. Together, we’ve created a home filled with love, adventure, and the joy of our two dogs. My love for animals has always been a huge part of who I am, and they remind me daily of the simple pleasures in life and the unconditional love that makes everything better.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Naturally, the journey hasn’t always been easy. Being an entrepreneur comes with constant pressure – to succeed, keep things running smoothly, and juggle endless responsibilities. But for me, that challenge has always been part of the excitement! Real estate, in particular, keeps me on my toes, offering something new every day. Whether I’m analyzing data or exploring properties, the variety keeps it engaging – it’s never boring.

The pandemic, however, tested me in ways I hadn’t anticipated. As the market surged, I found myself busier than ever, rushing from one appraisal to the next. In Germany, there’s a saying: if you’re self-employed, you’re always working. Truer words have never been spoken. The pace was intense, but I thrived, proud of the business I’d built. After months of non-stop work, I realized I hadn’t paused to celebrate how far I’d come. So, I decided to treat myself to something I’d admired for years: my first designer handbag, a Louis Vuitton Montaigne MM Monogram Empreinte Shoulder Bag. It wasn’t just a luxury purchase – it was a symbol of the hard work, perseverance, and growth I’d experienced on my journey.

By 2023, as the market began to fluctuate, I found myself drawn to something new. My first designer bag sparked an idea: what if I could create a venture that allowed me to share my love for designer handbags while making luxury more accessible? With my husband’s support, we brought Styles Via Sina to life – a business dedicated to preloved designer bags and accessories, celebrating secondhand fashion and the unique stories behind every piece. After months of planning, we launched in mid-2024. It’s been an exciting journey but balancing it with my real estate career has certainly brought its own set of challenges.

Building Styles Via Sina from the ground up has been an incredible learning experience, one that’s pushed me to step into many new roles – website developer, photographer, content creator, customer service rep – you name it. Though the brand is still in its early stages, I’m embracing every lesson along the way. It’s a work in progress, but the excitement of seeing it grow keeps me motivated. I can’t wait to see where this journey takes us and what amazing treasures the future holds for Styles Via Sina!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Belle Haven Appraisals & Styles Via Sina?
At Belle Haven Appraisals, I’m passionate about delivering precise real estate valuations across San Diego, Imperial, and parts of Riverside Counties. Whether it’s for trust and estate matters, tax and divorce valuations, or pre-listing appraisals, I offer a wide array of services tailored to meet the unique needs of my clients. From homeowners to attorneys, financial planners, realtors, and lenders, I work with a diverse group of individuals and organizations. What truly sets me apart is my unwavering commitment to thoroughness, attention to detail, and personalized service. I go the extra mile to ensure each client receives the most accurate and reliable valuation, giving them the confidence they need in their decision-making process.

On the other hand, Styles Via Sina is a true passion project, fueled by my love for designer fashion and my desire to make luxury more accessible. At its core, it’s about offering preloved designer bags and accessories to those who appreciate the craftsmanship and timeless beauty of these pieces, without the intimidating experience that often comes with high-end shopping. You know that feeling when you walk into a luxury store – the polished displays, the perfectly poised salespeople, and the subtle sense that you don’t quite belong? We’re here to change that. I wanted to create a space where luxury feels inclusive – where everyone can comfortably explore and own pieces with rich, meaningful stories behind them. Each item we offer isn’t just a bag or wallet; it’s a treasure with its own unique history, from unforgettable nights out to the milestones they’ve witnessed over the years. It’s rewarding to know that with every piece someone purchases, they’re not just getting a designer item – they’re becoming part of a community that values the stories these pieces carry. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built, and I’m excited to see how Styles Via Sina continues to grow, offering even more stylish finds and unforgettable memories for our customers.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
What I love most about San Diego is the perfect weather and the incredible mix of people and cuisines. Coming from Germany, I really appreciate the freedom of wearing sandals all year long and how easy it is to connect with people here. In Germany, it can take a while to break the ice, but in California, the laid-back vibe makes it feel so much easier to strike up a conversation. As a huge foodie, I’m in heaven with all the amazing food options in San Diego. And being so close to Mexico is a bonus – my husband and I love taking quick trips there for some of the best meals. Mexico’s definitely one of our favorite places to visit. The only downside? The high cost of living. That “sunshine tax” is definitely real!
