Today we’d like to introduce you to Steven Prager.
Hi Steven, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Myself and my law partner, Morgan N. Jones, are the founders of Prager Jones, APC a family law firm in La Mesa, CA. We handle divorce, legal separations, custody, support, domestic violence, and prenuptial agreements. The firm was founded in 2018. We have grown from our start in a virtual workspace to a 15 office suite. We both have backgrounds in the entertainment industry but found our way into law. We met working together at a firm in Los Angeles.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Growing a business is rarely a smooth road. We tried, failed and regrouped many times when first starting out and growing the firm. The thing is that law school does not teach you how to be a lawyer, much less how to run a law firm. A lot of our success has come down to finding the right mentors combined with trial, error, teamwork, and perseverance.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are a family law firm focusing on divorce, child custody and visitation, domestic violence and restraining orders, mediation, parentage, and prenuptial agreements. Our attorneys have considerable and varied experience in all aspects of family law.
We have an extremely casual work environment. Similar to a Silicon Valley start-up. However, when it comes to advocating for our clients, we take that extremely seriously. Our firm is adept at handling the tough cases. I’m all about the big picture and legal strategy, and Morgan is skilled at detailed analysis. We complement each other as attorneys so well and it is incredibly effective, especially in high conflict, high asset, or high stakes cases. There are many family law attorneys who never take cases to trial. Our team is capable of not just getting through the trial but developing a winning strategy that makes the most of the time you have in front of the Judge.
