Tahnie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
All you need to feel fabulous is a little lipstick. Lipstick is simple and everyone can use it, knows how to use it and uses it for special occasions. Out of the pandemic when my brides starting taking off masks, it was a common question I kept receiving- ‘what lipstick should I wear for my wedding?’ I don’t know if you have ever walked into a beauty store- but not one cosmetic company is focused on Brides and their wedding experience. It’s quite overwhelming, just as the wedding planning process can be. That’s when it clicked. If brides can go to a wedding dress salon for their gown and a wedding venue to host their day, why can’t they go to a wedding makeup company for their makeup needs and gifts? So I created Aisle Beauty and started with the simple beauty of lipstick.
We are currently working towards future bridal products and (must haves for grooms!). Our biggest highlight is our upcoming debut in New York Fashion Week! We cannot wait to take our lipsticks from the Aisle to the Runway.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
With my experience as a wedding planner for over ten years, I felt very comfortable adding a wedding lipstick brand to my portfolio. It felt like a very natural transition into another business space. However, even with my wedding background and community, having a product business is very different than having a service based business. Learning the ropes of launching an LLC came with a lot of responsibilities on top of my home duties with a newborn and a toddler. Sleep didn’t exist at the time and I felt like I was pulled in too many directions. I had to take a break and regroup. I really got into my own head because I am a really small fish up against some major influencer brandS in the beauty space. Despite these struggles, I PRESS ON!
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Aisle Beauty?
We are the first dedicated wedding makeup brand. Our ideal Aisle Beauties are brides, bridesmaids, wedding guests. We offer gifts for wedding parties, the perfect neutral shades for engagement photos, bachelorette parties, bridal showers, wedding pros and of course the wedding day. Our soft matte lipstick comes in 8 shades, built to stay from your ‘I do’s until your last dance’.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory growing up in Ojai is not coming home until the sunset. We adventured, we roamed, we ate wild blackberries from the vine. But I grew up as a tomboy with brothers. Makes sense I created a beauty brand now LOL.
