Today we’d like to introduce you to Teresa Howes.
Hi Teresa, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I like to say I’m a lifelong wellness advocate turned community builder. I spent the first half of my career in the health and wellness space—corporate wellness, nutrition coaching, content creation. I was an influencer before the term was even coined, I was really an OG blogger. When that became too isolating, I launched a meal prep company to be closer to connected to my clients and to build a team. While both businesses proved to be impactful, rewarding, and even profitable, it didn’t keep me from burning out from doing it all on my own. I realized what I was really missing wasn’t a more detailed business plan or time management tool—it was connection.
That experience planted the seed for what eventually became Twine: a community-driven network designed to connect passion-based female founders with like-minded businesswomen and conscious consumers through fun, meaningful, in-person events. Whether you’re building a brand or just want to support the women who are, Twine is a space where you can show up, be seen, and grow—together. Because I truly believe the right people change everything, and we weren’t meant to do this alone.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
If any business owner tells you it has been a smooth road, I would think they must be fibbing (or delusional). Things never go as you plan. I’ve had to rearrange my launch strategy to put value first. A real community can’t be built overnight. I don’t want Twine to be about big numbers as much as I want it to deliver real value to real women. And that just takes time.
There have been moments I’ve wondered, Is this landing? Is this needed? Will people actually show up? And yet, every time someone says, “This is exactly what I’ve been looking for,” I’m reminded why I’m doing it. Twine isn’t just another networking system or event series, it’s about changing the entrepreneurial experience for passion-based female founders. It’s about surrounding them with like-minded women who can support their growth—not just professionally, but emotionally too. It’s about creating space for them to showcase their incredible business to conscious consumers to fuel growth. And that kind of magic doesn’t happen overnight.
We’ve been impressed with Twine: Together Women Inspire Network & Events, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Twine is a community-driven network designed to connect passion-based female founders with like-minded businesswomen and conscious consumers—through engaging, in-person events. We’re not just about exchanging business cards or following each other on Instagram. We’re about building real relationships that spark growth, support, and fun.
What sets Twine apart is the way we blend professional support with genuine human connection. Our signature, community events feel more like meaningful gatherings than traditional networking mixers. There’s warmth, depth, intention—and of course laughter. We host our Unwind Happy Hour, Coffee Connection and Midday Mingles regularly and consistently, allowing connections to spark and grow over time.
As we evolve and our community grows, the lion’s share of our calendar will be made up of Founder events—designed not only to foster connection, but to spotlight the rad business owners in our community. These gatherings give conscious consumers a chance to experience their powerful, unique expertise firsthand—and leave with more than just a good time. They walk away inspired, informed, and connected to women they genuinely want to support.
What I’m most proud of is that people leave Twine events feeling seen, supported, and energized. That’s the magic I care most about. I want readers to know that whether you’re a founder or just someone who wants to support the women building cool, heart-led businesses—you’re welcome here. You don’t need a massive network. You just need a meaningful one. And that’s what we’re creating, one conversation at a time.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
If you’ve been craving more connection, more meaning, or more support in your business journey—you’re not alone, and you’re not doing it wrong. It’s just really hard to do big things by yourself. That’s why Twine exists.
Whether you’re a founder, a future founder, or simply someone who wants to support women doing cool things with heart, come to an event. Say hi. Join the community. You don’t have to be “ready”—you just have to be curious.
Let’s make San Diego feel a little smaller and a whole lot more connected. 💛
