Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Araiz Cervantes of Point Loma

We recently had the chance to connect with Araiz Cervantes and have shared our conversation below.

Araiz , it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day I try to spend them making my coffee, showering and then checking my agenda to try and see what in store for the day.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! I’m Araiz, founder of Naked San Diego a lash studio and creative space built around more than just beauty. I specialize in lash artistry, and helping beauty professionals build aligned, ease filled businesses without burnout.
I’m also the creator of the Girl Dinner Network, a soft power social club that brings women together to connect, collaborate, and celebrate femininity in all forms.

What makes my brand different? It’s rooted in feminine freedom, strategy, and experience. Whether you’re getting your lashes done or building your dream biz, everything I do is about making women feel seen, supported, and powerful.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
My mother is my biggest example of hard work. Watching her work so hard to provide for me at an early age taught me everything about dedication, resilience, and showing up no matter what. She made things happen even when the odds were stacked against her and that work ethic is something I carry with me in everything I do.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me how to sit with myself. Like really sit, in the silence, in the uncertainty, in the “what now?” moments.

Success never slowed me down like that. But the hard seasons? They stripped everything that wasn’t real. They made me ask who I am when no one’s clapping, when I have to rebuild, when it’s just me and my faith.

Suffering taught me to trust the pause. To find power in peace. That’s the part no one glamorizes. But that’s where I found my actual strength.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
I think a lot of smart people are chasing the wrong definition of luxury. They think it’s the house, the car etc.
But the real luxury? It’s family. It’s love. It’s peace of mind, people you can be soft around, mornings that aren’t rushed, and relationships that feel like home.
Success isn’t just what you build, it’s what you feel when you’re not performing. That’s the wealth I’m after.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
I’d stop shrinking. I’d stop second-guessing myself, dimming my light to make others comfortable, or waiting for the “perfect time.” I’d stop saying yes out of guilt and staying in spaces that don’t feel like home.
