Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Eric Pierre CPA of Little Italy

We recently had the chance to connect with Eric Pierre CPA and have shared our conversation below.

Eric, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I wake up, I read my Bible, Pray and Journal my day and then I go for a long walk outside to clear my mind.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I work with individuals and families who have higher incomes, typically those with taxable income over $500,000.

My background is in helping individuals navigate the more complex financial situations that often accompany success. What I’ve learned over the years is that once you reach certain income levels, your financial needs become quite different from the average person’s.

Here’s what we typically handle:

Year-Round Tax Strategy We work with clients throughout the year to structure their finances in tax-efficient ways. It’s much more involved than just preparing returns—we’re looking at the bigger picture of how different decisions impact their overall tax situation.

Business Transaction Support When clients are buying or selling businesses, especially larger deals, we help structure those transactions from a tax perspective. These situations can become quite complex, particularly when significant profits are involved.

Complex Tax Compliance: We handle all the detailed filing requirements associated with higher-income situations. There are often multiple entities, investment structures, and compliance requirements that need careful attention.

Financial Documentation We prepare the various financial statements our clients need—whether for lending, investment purposes, or wealth planning. These documents often need to meet specific standards depending on their intended use.

Our practice is relationship-based, and we work with a relatively small number of clients. We’ve found that this approach allows us to understand each client’s unique situation and provide more personalized service.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
During my Junior Year at Stephen F. Austin State University, I was the first non-Greek student in well over a decade to win homecoming court. I faced long odds as I represented the Honors Student Association, aka “The Nerds.” I got to show the world that Nerds indeed rule over jocks and Fraternity Men!

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self that pain is indeed the path and that comfort will hold you back.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, the public version of me is the real me.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I lived a life of integrity, honesty and clarity
