Absolutely – we’d hire us! At FemmeFolio, we pride ourselves on being thoughtful, creative leaders in the marketing and design space. We don’t just make things look good; we really listen to what you want to achieve and then turn that vision into smart, strategic steps that help your brand stand out. Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
We’re FemmeFolio Design Studio, a women-led branding and design studio built on creativity, collaboration, and purpose. At our core, we’re passionate about turning bold ideas into empowered brands. We offer accessible, high-quality services for both new and established small businesses, and with our mix of backgrounds in branding, design, and operations, we bring a well-rounded perspective to every project. We also know firsthand how tough it can be to build a strong brand identity, which is why we focus on making the process as smooth (and fun!) as possible.
What really sets us apart is how personal we make the work. We’re not just here to deliver polished logos, websites, or social media strategies – we’re here to build lasting partnerships and help brands grow with clarity and confidence.
Lately, we’ve been especially excited to partner with other women-led businesses across San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. We love diving into industries like food and beverage, sports, and health and wellness, and seeing how thoughtful design can make a real impact. For us, there’s nothing better than helping passionate founders see their vision come to life.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
At FemmeFolio Design Studio, connection is at the core of everything we do – helping women-led businesses shape their identity, tell their story, and build something lasting. When bonds break, it usually comes down to a lack of clarity, consistency, or care. Trust rarely falls apart all at once; more often, it fades through small missteps like assumptions, missed expectations, or not following through.
What restores those bonds is intention. As our COO, Mollie Mello, puts it: “Connection is rebuilt through presence, accountability, and a genuine willingness to understand each other – not just once, but over time.” That philosophy guides how we work with clients and how we show up in life. Listening closely, being transparent, and keeping our word is how we strengthen the bonds that matter most.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
Fear of not being “enough” is something many creatives can relate to – not bold enough, not original enough, not talented enough to stand out in a fast-moving, saturated industry. For a long time, that fear can hold you back, making you second-guess instincts or hesitate to share ideas you know, deep down, have strength.
In the words of Steph Timmons, our Chief Creative Officer: “What helped me move past that fear was realizing that my perspective is my power. The way I see and interpret the world – especially as a woman designing for other women – is valuable.”
That mindset has shaped not just Steph’s creative journey, but FemmeFolio as a whole. We’ve built a studio rooted in trust, collaboration, and heart – where the work reflects both our clients’ visions and the confidence that comes from leaning into your own.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies the design industry tells itself is that good design has to be expensive, exclusive, or out of reach to be impactful. There’s a lingering myth that only big-budget brands can afford quality work – and that’s simply not true.
Amanda Grable, our Chief Design Officer, sums it up perfectly: “We’ve proven time and again that you can create beautiful, strategic, and thoughtful design for small businesses, especially those led by women, without compromising on quality. Creativity shouldn’t be gatekept.”
Another common misconception is that design is just about making things look good. In reality, it’s about solving problems, telling stories, and giving businesses the tools they need to grow with confidence. That’s the kind of design FemmeFolio stands behind every day – collaborative, approachable, and built to last.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
If we retired tomorrow, our clients would miss the partnership—not just the design. At FemmeFolio, we’re more than a studio; we’re collaborators, problem-solvers, and trusted extensions of the brands we support.
