Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Jordan Brown

Jordan Brown shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Jordan, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
A common misconception about Mindcheer is that it’s only about cheerleading or always being positive. In reality, Mindcheer is about cheering people on through every part of life—the challenges as much as the celebrations. At its heart, it’s about helping people build resilience, confidence, and a supportive mindset they can carry into daily life, whether or not they’ve ever been a cheerleader.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Jordan Brown, and I’m the founder of Mindcheer—a movement and brand dedicated to blending personal development with the spirit of cheer. Through books, coaching, events, and products, Mindcheer inspires people to build confidence, resilience, and joy in both the highs and lows of life. What makes it unique is that it takes the uplifting energy of cheerleading and transforms it into tools and experiences anyone can use—not just athletes—to strengthen mindset and community. My journey has been about turning challenges into opportunities to encourage others, and right now I’m focused on expanding Mindcheer into a platform that supports youth, adults, and communities in leading with cheer.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
Bonds between people are often broken when trust is lost, communication fades, or when someone feels unseen in their struggles. At Mindcheer, we believe those bonds can be restored through encouragement, empathy, and consistent support—cheering people on not only in the good times but especially through the challenges. When trust is rebuilt through honesty, listening, and showing up with integrity, connections don’t just heal—they become even stronger. That’s the heart of what Mindcheer represents: reminding people they are not alone and that resilience grows in community.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me something success never could—it became the seed that grew into everything I’ve built with Mindcheer. Out of heartbreak came the inspiration for A Mind of Cheer and Elly the Deer Loves to Cheer. Those difficult seasons showed me that true cheer isn’t about being happy all the time, it’s about finding resilience, encouragement, and hope when life feels heavy. That realization became the foundation for Mindcheer: turning pain into purpose and creating tools, stories, and experiences that help others feel supported through both their struggles and their successes.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
The public version of me is very real, but it represents the part of myself rooted in purpose. Through Mindcheer, I share my genuine passion for encouragement, resilience, and growth. Of course, like anyone, I have private struggles and quieter moments that don’t always appear publicly. But what I choose to share is the light that’s been shaped through those challenges, because my mission is to show that it’s possible to turn hardship into hope. In that sense, the public version of me is authentic—it’s simply the part of me that is dedicated to uplifting others.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
The story I hope people will tell when I’m gone is that I made others feel encouraged, seen, and supported—and that I reminded people of the power of believing in one another. I want them to say I took my own challenges and heartbreak and turned them into something that gave others strength, whether through Mindcheer, my books, or simply the way I showed up for them. My hope is that people will remember Mindcheer as a movement that inspired resilience, joy, and community—that I left behind a legacy of encouragement and a reminder that when we believe in one another, we can rise through anything.
