Hi Julie , thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day, i start by opening windows and the door, i stand outside for at least 10 to fifteen minutes and take in Sunshine, i enjoy the sunrise or morning air. I let the first thing i drink be water to flush my gut. On a good day i remember to add lemon. Then i make an iced coffee, brown sugar shaken espresso, sometimes a matcha, i alternate, or i make a smoothie and put my powder vitamins in it so i don’t have to swallow them all and then i take the smaller ones with water, then i read my devotional and journal, some call it quiet time with Jesus… In the morning i direct my prayers, if not i end up being directed by it and I can end up distracted and loosing time to stuff that doesn’t matter as much….This is my morning routine….
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Julie Fernandez, Founder, Main Shooter, Photo Session Director, and Creative Editor at JF Photography. We specialize in capturing life’s most precious moments and preserving them in a way that’s both unique and beautiful. My journey started when my husband, knowing my love for photography, gave me a camera for our anniversary — a DSLR that I lovingly call my ‘DSLRaus’ because she’s a bit of a dinosaur now.
That gift led to my first wedding project (thanks to my son encouraging me to share it online), which I volunteered to do for free. It turned out great, and from there I began bringing my camera everywhere, documenting events and special moments — many of which are now treasured memories of loved ones no longer with us.
Over time, I developed a knack for directing photo sessions and becoming what I call a ‘Bridal Bestie’ — someone who not only delivers stunning wedding photography but also helps make the day smoother and more enjoyable. With JF Photography, clients don’t just book a photographer; they gain a friend who’s invested in making their memories unforgettable.
Right now, you can book through social media, but I’m excited to be working on launching my website soon, making it even easier for people to connect with me and start creating their own timeless memories.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
Losing loved ones made me realize how important it is to capture moments while we can — it also helped to shape my passion for photography and preserving memories. These are all the more precious when you want to have something to relive the moments you had with your loved one.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
It’s in the dark times, tough times and waiting times that you trust that God is with you. It’s these times we learn to praise and walk in faith, so when success comes around, you don’t loose praise to pride.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
That it’s just about taking pictures — in reality, it’s about connection, trust, and creating an experience, not just images.

Yes — because the work itself matters to me, and the memories I create for others are the real reward, it’s a blessing to share my creative gifts.
