Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Mimi Marie

We recently had the chance to connect with Mimi Marie and have shared our conversation below.

Good morning Mimi, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? Who are you learning from right now?
Right now, I’m learning so much from Drs. Suzanna and Kira at Twin Waves Wellness Center, where I recently joined the team back in May of this year. Their story, who they are as women, and what they’ve created together is incredibly inspiring. They lead with so much authenticity, intuition, and heart, and the way they hold space for others truly embodies the kind of impact I aspire to have in my own work.

Being surrounded by women who live in alignment with their purpose has been such a gift, and it deeply resonates with what I feel called to do in this lifetime: help others heal, connect, and grow into their highest potential.

The community they’ve built feels like such a safe, nurturing space for transformation, not only for our practice members, but for everyone involved. I’m constantly learning from their leadership, their energy, and their example.

On a personal level, the Network Spinal chiropractic care that I’ve been receiving since starting there has also been profoundly healing. It’s a gentle yet powerful form of chiropractic care that helps the nervous system unwind stored tension and trauma, allowing the body to reorganize and heal from within.

Through this work, I’ve been able to reconnect more deeply with myself, release old patterns, and access a greater sense of peace and purpose. In a very short amount of time, I’ve been making changes in my life that are aligned with the greater vision that I’ve had for years, but haven’t had the courage to step into until now. I truly feel like I’m growing every single day, not just in my role, but in my personal life, as a mother and as a woman on a mission.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Mimi Marie, a 47 year old mama to 5 grown children, and my passion and my mission is to help women reconnect with their bodies, reclaim their health, and cultivate lasting wellness. After years of exploring and practicing nutrition, lifestyle, and holistic health, I’ve recently joined the team at Twin Waves to serve as the first point of contact for new patients and support them as they begin their own healing journeys.

Alongside my role, I’m relaunching my wellness brand dedicated to helping women build sustainable, lifestyle-based nutrition habits. My programs focus on behavior change, real-world strategies, and personalized guidance because I believe lasting wellness doesn’t come from quick fixes, but from learning to listen to your body, nourish it thoughtfully, and live in alignment with your health goals.

In addition to being a Certified Nutritionist, I recently made the decision to go back to college to complete my degree in nutrition, something I had put on hold over 10 years ago during some major life changes. While I wish I had kept going at the time, I now recognize that I’ve been guided to this moment, and I’m deeply grateful to be back on track. This journey has reinforced my belief that it’s never too late to follow your purpose, and it’s shaping the way I support and inspire other women on their wellness paths.

What makes my work unique is my combination of personal experience, professional training, and deep empathy. I bring insight from my own wellness transformations, work that I’ve done with clients throughout the years, what I’ve learned from other leaders in the industry, alongside evidence-based practices to help women navigate their journeys with confidence and clarity. Right now, my focus is on empowering women to feel strong, nourished, and fully supported, whether through one-on-one guidance, structured programs, or the nurturing community I’m helping cultivate at Twin Waves.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
I believe the part of me that has spent years doubting myself, questioning my path, and feeling unworthy of the work I’m here to do is now ready to be released. For a long time, I carried the weight of a tumultuous childhood filled with chaos and abuse, and it created inner battles that made it hard to fully trust myself and my abilities.

Through the personal development work that I’ve done over the past 15 years, along with my path of recovery, the Network Spinal care and the personal work I’m doing now, including meditation, mindfulness, and intentional lifestyle practices, I’ve been learning how to release these old patterns on an even deeper level. I’m shedding the fear and self-doubt that no longer serve me, making space for confidence, clarity, and the deep knowing that I am here to serve a purpose bigger than myself.

This transformation isn’t just physical or mental; it’s spiritual and emotional too. Every day, I feel more aligned with my true self, more present in my purpose, and more capable of showing up fully for the women I guide through their own wellness journeys. Releasing this part of me has been both challenging and liberating — and it’s allowing me to step into the next chapter of my life with courage, clarity, and compassion.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self: We are going to make it. Life will be hard at times, and some wounds will never fully fade, but you will create a life filled with love, purpose, and joy. Every challenge you face now is shaping the strength, wisdom, and compassion you’ll carry forward. Trust the journey. You are exactly where you need to be to become the woman you envision, and beautiful things are still to come.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? How do you differentiate between fads and real foundational shifts?
I differentiate fads from real foundational shifts by looking at sustainability, personalization, and long-term impact. Fads often promise quick results, follow rigid rules, or focus on what’s “trendy” rather than what’s actually healthy or balanced. This day and age of social media makes this a really difficult place to navigate for people when it comes to creating lasting change.

Foundational shifts, on the other hand, create lasting change because they address the root causes, honor your body’s unique needs, and build habits that can be maintained over time.

This philosophy is at the heart of Mimi Marie Nutrition. My programs aren’t about quick fixes, they’re about helping women develop lasting lifestyle changes that truly support their energy, wellness, and confidence. A real shift happens when you learn to listen to your body, understand your patterns, and make adjustments that feel natural, sustainable, and empowering. It’s the difference between a temporary solution and a lifelong transformation.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Have you ever gotten what you wanted, and found it did not satisfy you?
Yes. I spent five years chasing money in the corporate world, striving to achieve success on the outside while feeling increasingly disconnected on the inside. In my last year, I earned the most money I ever had, yet I was deeply unhappy, constantly stressed, and completely unsatisfied with the work I was doing.

That experience taught me an invaluable lesson. External achievements and financial milestones cannot replace alignment with your purpose or fulfillment in your work. True satisfaction comes from doing something meaningful, serving others in a way that resonates with your values, and building a life that nourishes both your heart and mind.

It was a turning point that ultimately guided me back to my true path in wellness, nutrition, and supporting others on their healing journeys.
