We’re looking forward to introducing you to Will Hansen . Check out our conversation below.
Hi Will, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: Can you talk to us about your morning routine?
My mornings always begin with coffee, it’s a ritual as much as a necessity. Once that first cup is ready, I dedicate the next hour to creative work, whether it’s editing photos, refining visuals, or developing new video content for Instagram and TikTok. From there, I shift into connection mode—reviewing messages, engaging with friends and collaborators—before moving into the rest of the day’s work.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Creativity has always been at the center of everything I do. Through 3 Eared Rabbit, I explore overlooked Americana, neon landmarks, and the beauty of travel, while also expanding into fine art as a deeper form of expression. Beyond my personal work, 3 Eared Rabbit also serves as my creative studio, where I partner with brands as a freelance creative director and designer. From building visual identities to shaping brand strategies and delivering compelling design systems, I help businesses connect with audiences in ways that are both authentic and memorable. For me, every project—personal or professional—is rooted in storytelling, craft, and a commitment to leaving a lasting impression.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the world told me who I had to be, I was a quiet, shy kid searching for direction. Right out of high school, I joined the Navy, not because I had it all figured out, but because I wanted to see the world and discover who I could become. I spent ten years serving as a dental lab technician, a role that taught me discipline, precision, and resilience. But when I left the Navy at 28, I knew it was time to reinvent myself. That turning point was clear: my future had to be built around creativity. From that moment on, every step I’ve taken has been about shaping a life and career driven by imagination, design, and storytelling.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear that has held me back the most has always been tied to creativity, specifically, the worry that my work wouldn’t be good enough, or that people simply wouldn’t connect with what I was making. As a creative, your work feels personal, almost like an extension of yourself, so judgment can cut deeply. For a long time, that fear kept me second-guessing or holding back. Over time, though, I’ve learned that vulnerability is part of the process. Not everyone will love what you create, and that’s okay, the real win is in putting it out into the world anyway and letting it find the audience it was meant for.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, what you see is what you get. The public version of me is the real me. I bring my authentic, creative, and often humorous self into every moment of life and work. There’s no curated persona, no faking it. I’ve found that being genuine not only makes life lighter, but it also makes the connections I build far more meaningful.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m on the open road, windows down, music blaring, and nothing but possibility ahead. That’s when I’m in my element, chasing the next visual treasure or forgotten story waiting to be rediscovered. The rhythm of the road, paired with the thrill of the hunt, gives me a sense of freedom and clarity that nothing else quite matches.
