Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Adams.
Amy, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Honestly, I grew up as a tomboy in a military family with two brothers, so that doesn’t really set the foundation as your typical Beauty Girl/ Lash Artist, but here I am. I’m still a tomboy! But I couldn’t be happier here in this industry dominated by women. I’m obsessed with my girl tribe!
Has it been a smooth road?
HA! No. Some days I feel absolutely bipolar. It’s definitely easier now since I’m 100% committed to lashing, but please don’t discredit how difficult beauty school is. I was bartending while I was in school and while I wet my feet in the industry and that was really, really draining- both physically and mentally.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Eyelash Amy – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I completely infatuated with the skin, beauty, and lash industry. There is so much support out there for women right now, and it’s so much more accepting for women to go after what the want, create themselves independently and really step forward in all kinds of capacities we never thought we could. I’m proud every day. I know that when my girls come in for an appointment with me, it’s not just because I just do great lashes (And damn I do) but it’s because I give them a sense of comfort and security and fire that perhaps other places are lacking. I would do anything for my clients’ comfort and happiness. I know that if they look good, they feel good. And that’s where the magic happens. Watch out for a girl with bangin’ lashes, okay. She’s going places!!
As for setting myself apart, I’ve been triple certified both on a local and international platform- by the ever talented Kimberland at Kaylashland and by Borboleta Beauty. I’ve attended the Hollywood Lash Conference and met incredible, inspiring men & women worldwide that dominate this industry. I belong to an online network of over 15,000 global lash artists. I truly care about lash health and the science behind getting your lashes done. Not just the end result, but the how, the why, when of it all. I’m here to debunk the myth that eyelash extensions will “ruin your natural lashes.” Well, only an uneducated and careless artist will. I want my clients to be stress free and have that “woke up like this” moment, everyday. They deserve it, and so they’ll have it!
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
Well, I can’t give you all the goodies just yet, but I do have a lot I’m looking forward to and planning for this next year, including: referral programs (just launched), website (coming soon), educational YouTube videos for clients & artists, larger retail space, lash gear, take home spa amenities. It’s a lot just starting out, but I’m confident you’ll be seeing a lot more of Eyelash Amy here soon. Just keep swimming, right?!
