Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Dominick.
Anna, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Right after high school, I joined the US Navy and did four years in the service. I was stationed in San Diego on the USS Mobile Bay. Once I got out of the navy, I went to cosmetology school at Paul Mitchell the school – San Diego, I didn’t quite know what I wanted to do with it once I graduated, so I was just working as a receptionist until I decided to go to Bellus Academy for their Spa Nails course. Once I started there I knew that’s exactly the industry I wanted to be in. I LOVE doing nails. It’s such a creative field to be in. I graduated from Bellus in May of 2017 and about a month later, I went to the state board and got my license as a manicurist. I started working in Coronado July of 2017 and have been there ever since.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think the biggest obstacle I had was myself. Believing in my own abilities and pushing myself to do what I always loved. It took me quite some time to convince myself that I was good enough to pursue my dreams. The best advice I could give anyone is that you are good enough and don’t let anyone stand in the way of your journey and happiness. It is your journey to go on, no one else’s.
Please tell us about your business.
I am a licensed Nail Technician. I specialize in all things nails. I am most proud of my clients that trust in me to provide them with beautiful nails and believe in quality and not a quantity of the service. I think what sets me apart is my attention to detail.
Who have you been inspired by?
The biggest inspiration in my life is my mom. Mostly because of her perseverance and dedication to providing my siblings and myself the best life she possibly could no matter the situation.
