Today we’d like to introduce you to Breana Rensing.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Breana. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
It honestly all started in high school! I was struggling senior year to find out what I wanted to do after graduation also, they always make you do senior projects so I felt the pressure to figure it out ASAP! Then randomly one day someone at school asked me to do their makeup for them since they liked how I did mine. Ever since that day, I did her makeup and saw how her face lit up with happiness, I just knew this was what I’m meant to do. After high school, I immediately went to Beauty School and got my Cosmetology license! I wanted to get licensed for Cosmetology and not just as a Makeup Artist because I constantly saw people going back to school to get licensed for different things so I figured why not just go for it all! Fast forward to today, here I am over six years later, specializing in a totally different realm of the beauty industry!
One of my next goals is to one day be an educator for either CND or at a local college/beauty school. Being able to teach and supply what I’ve learned so far on my journey would be the biggest accomplishment!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road there’s been struggles and hard times, but how else will we learn through certain situations and trials without having to overcome the obstacles. Honestly, one of my biggest struggles was myself. You need to believe in yourself and believe you are enough, not only in this aspect with your job or talent but day to day. Don’t get me wrong, I still struggle from time to time, but opportunities like this show me that you are enough, someone has recognized your talent and skill look what you’ve accomplished!!! It’s very easy to see the negatives with our own personal lives and what’s going on in them, but we are only here for a short period of time, why waste it on the things that bring us down!
The advice I would give is: do what you love, what brings you happiness, find that something and when you do find it just go for it! Yes, it might be scary, but sometimes, you just have to take that first step and then you’ll see and recognize that you are capable of amazing things!
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I specialize in CND Shellac manicures and pedicures (classic polish as well)! I only use CND products so you know exactly what you are getting every time you come in and receive a service. I’ve always loved doing nail art from day one at beauty school, I paint and draw in my free time so that’s where that comes into play! I love doing anything from the classic glitter, glitter ombre, foil, but the main thing I wish I could do all day every day is hand painted detailed designs! They are challenging (sometimes intimidating) but so satisfying when you see the finished product and you see that someone is so excited and can’t wait to share them with people, that is why I love what I do. I bring happiness into peoples lives with something so simple but forever changing how someone feels about themselves!!
I take a lot of pride in providing a positive experience and safe nail experience for everyone that walks through my door, doesn’t matter if it is the first time I’ve seen you or the hundredth!
Who have you been inspired by?
I’ve known/met a lot of amazing women. They might not know it but these women inspire me, they also have been through a lot in their own lives and don’t hesitate to give love and advice when needed the most. My job allows me to meet some pretty amazing people every day and I get to continue with these relationships throughout the years.
