Today we’d like to introduce you to Calliope Scherrer.
Calliope, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’m a 3rd generational tarot reader from San Francisco, California. I’ve been reading tarot for myself and others since I was 13 years old.
Originally, I was pursuing a career in cinema and was experiencing a lot of success as a documentary film producer and high school film directing teacher. However, that success also came with a lot of hardships and lows. At the same time, wounds from my childhood began to emerge. I reached a point where I no longer had passion for anything, felt miserable all the time, and was turning towards substances to cope with each day.
I realized it was time to completely deconstruct my life and rebuild myself. I moved away from the city, lived off savings, and dove deep into spiritual healing modalities and inner work. This led to an incredible personal transformation. I was so ecstatic and amazed by how deep and profound the combination of tarot, mindset work, and lifestyle changes was.
This led me to create my new business: Avesah (which means Entering the Gates of Self) so I could mentor and coach others so they could experience the same deep inner peace and life expansion that I did.
Avesah became my new identity, my new pursuit, my new message.
The past three years I have watched my clients have the most epic transformations. Every day I grow deeper in faith, passion, and joy for this work.
I am currently working on coaching programs so I can expand my work from 1:1 sessions to reaching larger audiences.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Being an entrepreneur is not easy. It takes grit. It takes deep inner work. But if you have the call to be a visionary: it’s absolutely the most rewarding thing you will ever do. Every struggle and low period you face on this journey is part of how you learn and become better.
Here’s my top 3 tips if this is your path:
- Find your “biz besties”. These are other people who are also pursing entrepreneurship. It will be crucial for you to have people that you can talk to that 100% understand the world you’re in. These will be your best supporters
- Forget about how much time it takes. Just continue- every single day- to work towards your vision
- Be prepared to face your fears with money. Be smart – profit takes a while and investments will need to be made. Balance this just right.

I have a very special and unique service: I combine Tarot with Life Coaching. Tarot is a divination device and life coaching encompasses lifestyle and goals. So the work I provide is highly magical, spiritual and energetic – yet is anchored into reality with practical advice that can be easily implemented. This combination creates major breakthroughs in people’s lives. My clients experience major shifts, accelerated personal development, and sustainable life transformation.
I am most known for my ability to give an insanely accurate reading on a person’s situation – even if I’ve never met them or talked to them. This benefits my clients because I am able to enter a session with a very clear feeling and vision of where they’re currently at, where they’ve been, and where they’re going. This allows us to skip a lot of expository talks and get straight to the work.
I am most proud of my ability to encourage others to feel inspired and hopeful and then back that up with action steps so they feel confident and clear about moving forward.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts or other resources that you’ve benefited from using?
Countless books and podcasts have helped me get to where I am today. I spend one summer going to the library daily and pulling every single book off the shelf related to business and personal development. I did the same 10 years prior when learning tarot.
