Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Baker.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Danielle. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
A couple of years ago, I began seeing a therapist. Seeing her was life-changing, she introduced me to the idea of blogging about things I was interested in aide me during my healing process. This helped me learn more about who I was and who I was becoming. Seeing her and working on my blog helped boost my confidence and taught me how to use my voice, all while doing things I am passionate about. Hopefully, that will inspire some girls, women or people that are going through similar struggles so they know that they aren’t alone. We should all have the opportunity become the person we want to be or are meant to be.
Has it been a smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth ride, but if it were easy, would it be worth it? One struggle that I go through is fear or self-doubt. The fear of failure or not being deserving. One piece of advice I would give others that are looking to start their own journey is to stay on track. This can be really difficult with life distractions but I usually start the day on the right note by taking the morning to myself before touching my phone to keep me grounded. If I am feeling overwhelmed it calms me down and energizes my thought process, so I can focus on my goals.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Simple Valediction – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
My blog sets me apart from others because it is uniquely me. I wanted to focus on blogging about things I enjoy the fashion I play around with or my crafty home upgrades. I believe everybody is different and my blog is a representation of myself.
Who have you been inspired by?
I find inspiration from many women, primarily the ones that have gone out and conquered their fears or roadblocks in order to reach their goals. One real-life example is my friend, Rachael who is finishing pre-med, she struggles with depression and hasn’t let it stop her from her journey to becoming a surgeon and being a wife. Aside from her own challenges, she also has to deal with sexism in her field. Being a student is already hard enough. She is one of the many women I know that inspires me because of her strength through adversity.
