Life and Work with Darah Rockholt

Today we’d like to introduce you to Darah Rockholt.

Darah, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Working full time as a Certified Medical Assistant, going to nursing school part-time and working part-time nights and weekends as a liquor sampler. My days were long, I was gone from 6:30am to 9pm almost everyday. I was 25 and already burned out from a career path I had just begun. I had taken on so much to that I completely lost sight of taking care of my own health resulting in me putting on 25 extra pounds. I was eating whatever was quick, easy and cheap and just the thought of exercise was exhausting but I knew I had to make a change.

I got introduced to Beachbody’s at home fitness programs and clean eating lifestyle through a friend. I knew I did not want to go to a gym. I had been a dancer my whole life until I went to college. I didn’t have a lot of experience with other types of exercise so being able to follow the fitness programs from the privacy of my home was exactly what I needed. I fell involve with the portion control nutrition plan that aligned with the programs. In my late teens into my early twenties, I developed anorexia. Once I overcame my eating disorder, I became a binge eater and thats how the 25 pounds of extra weight happened leading me to the opportunity that helped me change my life.

When I completed my first three week at home program in a virtual bootcamp with other women I couldn’t believe my results! I had lost 13 inches in 20 days! For the first time in years, I believed in myself. I had learned how to properly fuel my body and I started to feel confident enough to record myself working out with the hope of inspiring other women they can do this too! I decided become an online health and fitness coach and share my journey on social media.

When I first started my coaching business three and a half years ago, I honestly just wanted to help other women feel as good as I was starting to and make an extra few hundred bucks so I could stop living paycheck to paycheck. 6 months into my business I felt a shift. I always knew I wanted to help people and I enjoy learning about how the body works and health but maybe being a nurse wasn’t how I was supposed to be helping people. The more I poured into my clients and help women the less I wanted to continue nursing school, so I took a break while continuing to work as a CMA. 6 months later, I did one of the scariest things I have ever done. I gave my two weeks notice on my one year sign up anniversary and decided to go all in with my online coaching business. A lot of people thought I was making a huge mistake leaving my stable full-time job that I have a degree in to take a chance on something that I had been doing a year on social media. But here’s the thing, I’m not most people. I do what I believe in and I believed in me and this business.

Today so much has changed in my life. In the last three and a half years I have been able to retire as a CMA, I got engaged to my best friend, I became a stay at home dog mom to the sweetest little french bulldog Brady. I have the freedom to travel, I have pay off debt, we move across the states from NH to my dream place to raise a family here in San Diego. I have been able to impacted the lives of thousands of women though sharing my story on social media and created life long friendships with people I would of never know if not for following my passion. We are paying for our wedding in October debt-free and I am the first in my family to become a 6 figure earner.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Absolutely NOT! Anyone who tells you being an entrepreneur is easy is lying. It is hard freaking work and that is EXACTLY why I love what I do. I love the self-discipline you have to have and strong work mentality most are not willing to rise to.

I’ve has so many struggles and failure but I don’t see them as a negative. I see them as lessons and my growing seasons. I’ve had others try and bring me down, nasty messages, stealing my work, people I mentor up and leave my business without an explanation. I have fallen short on goals I set more times than I can remember.

My advice for other women who are just starting, keep your blinders on sis. Put your head down and get to work. We all have the same 24 hours in a day. Make the time and scarifies now for the things you want in the future. Don’t worry about what everyone else is doing. Her success is NOT your failure. We all have our own gifts and talents and until you believe in what you have to offer and know your worth know one will invest in you.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I am an online health and fitness Coach as well as a business mentor for other online health and fitness coaches within my team. As a coach I align women with program and nutrition plans that best fit their individual goals and needs using at home fitness programs that can also be done at the gym if that is more their style. I run virtual bootcamps for women though an app where we log our workouts, nutrition and share recipes, personal development and more!

I am proud of being a 2x Elite Coach (being in the top 0.01% of the company) with Team Beachbody. Being the leader of an Elite team is the direct reflection of the lives we have been able to impact as a whole. Not only am I helping women make a lifestyle change with our program and helping women turn their journey into a successful business like I have but I have leaders on my team who I mentored who are doing the same and having their own success stories. I didn’t go to school for business nor did I have any training in social media or leadership. I work really hard behind the scenes to learn how to build an online business and lead others and it goes to show you can do anything you set your mind to.

What sets me apart from others is that I am resilient and relentless. I take pride on being the hardest worker in the room. I might not have all of the answers but I will work until the goal is achieved.
