Life and Work with Deb Sutton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Deb Sutton.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Deb. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Unfulfilled in life; relationships and career. Started working in an office environment at 19 years old and at the time was 33. I had a college degree, had lots of incredible career experience (worked for ESPN radio, wrote for the Tampa Yankees), management and marketing experience in healthcare was always driven but I was feeling lost and unhappy. I felt like I was wearing a mask and knew I needed to make a change to figure ME out. I decided to follow a dream and take a leap! I quit my job for the “Eat, Pray, Love” experience and enrolled in a month-long immersion into a yoga teaching training in California. This wasn’t just your run of the mill training, this was living in an Ashram founded by a yoga guru in the 70’s for a month. I went alone and it changed my life!!! When I came back, I had new eyes but still lost. Now what? I was still so career-driven and I wanted to succeed but also had such a deep love for yoga and finding the calm and balance, I felt I had to choose “who was I now? A friend of mine told me I didn’t have to choose and could be both. Buddha in a Blazer was born.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Coming back to reality from my month-long immersion into a job (because I needed to work) was very difficult. I hadn’t quite figured out I could be BOTH a successful and driven businesswoman and a calm yogi. I had to try and balance both. I taught yoga on the weekends and was constantly challenged in a toxic work environment.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
Working on getting my blog and website up live! Currently, just using IG – Goal to launch 2019
