Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Beard.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I am originally from Las Vegas, moved to Temecula my junior year of high school. Moved to Kentucky after graduating to cheer at the University of Louisville, after one year there, I then decided to move back to southern California and transfer to the Design Institute of San Diego. Then, finally deciding to go to beauty school, I got my Esthetics License at Bellus Academy. The beauty industry has always been apart of my life with my mother being a hair stylist. It has always held a special place in my heart, so it was not a surprise to me or anyone else in my life when I realized I wanted to go to school for esthetics. I knew I wanted to lash from day 1 of school, so literally, the day after I got my license I applied at Amazing Lash Studio. After a little over a year there, I met Courtney and started training with her. Four months later, here we are in Del Mar and I have never loved my career more than I do right now.
Has it been a smooth road?
While of course, there are struggles and obstacles through any career and any journey, I have been extremely blessed to have had a pretty smooth road thus far. I truly believe that this smooth road is due to all the struggle and hard work I’ve done throughout my life. My best advice for those just starting this journey is to accept everything, good and bad, as a lesson. Embrace it all, stay positive and never give up on yourself. If you want to be successful, you will be.
Often it feels as if the media, by and large, is only focused on the obstacles faced by women, but we feel it’s important to also look for the opportunities. In your view, are there opportunities that you see that women are particularly well positioned for?
No matter how talented you become at your craft, you will never know everything. You can never be too educated, there will always be something new to learn.
