Today we’d like to introduce you to Honey Kay.
Honey, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
When I was younger, I had to move around a lot. I didn’t really get to stay in the same school and keep the same friends. So I used to find ways to keep myself entertained after school or during transitions of finding a new school to go to. Watching YouTube videos like bloggers and pranksters, helped me because watching people on YouTube they make you feel like you’re a part of a group or a family. I’ve always been very outgoing. I knew that one day I would want to start a channel of my own, which I did. I’m new to the game but I plan to dominate it.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I’ve only been in the business for about two months now, but during these two months, I can tell you that there are times you may want to give up. You may not see the support that you thought you would right away. That’s when you need to be your biggest supporter. It hasn’t been the smoothest ride but each obstacle that I overcome, I’ve learned from and it’s only going to help me grow.
Being a younger woman in this, it’s important that everyone takes you seriously and understands that you mean business. I’ve been in situations with people who are where I would like to be tell me that I have to go on a date to collaborate with them. Starting off never feel obligated to deal with these type of situations. It may feel like a loss but you really gain that respect.
We’d love to hear more about your work.
I am a new upcoming YouTuber. I do All types of videos from travel vlogs, to fashion hauls, and so much more. I am most proud of the fact that I’m doing this all by myself and I’ve managed to stay consistent while working a full-time job. My personality and how authentic I am in my videos is definitely what sets me apart from others. I don’t get behind the camera and act like someone I’m not. Honey Kay is who I am, and is who I will always be there is no one else like me.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts or other resources that you’ve benefited from using?
My Instagram is my main social media platform. (@honeeykay) It definitely helps people see a little more into my life on a more daily basis. I also use this platform to help promote my YouTube channel as well.
