Today we’d like to introduce you to Jen Jones.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’m a wife, mom of four and entrepreneur. In 2013, my life came to a significant crossroad. My husband and I were making decisions about what we would invest ourselves in for the next chapter of our lives. As a native San Diegan, my heart was for this city, for its people and to raise my family in a community that was inspiring, life-giving and rooted on what matters most to us. And as a mother of a child with Down Syndrome, I was passionate about advocating for the needs of others and the intrinsic value of every human life.
And so I set out to add joy, increase faith and build hope in people. What started out as a journal of my thoughts on these very issues became the release of my first book, “Thrive: Growing Through Life’s Greatest Challenges.” This opened opportunities to travel and speak, using my voice to encourage others in their struggles. That led to becoming a certified coach to people across the country and beginning a nationwide business called “Jen Jones Direct.”
I’m enthusiastic about meeting people at the point of their potential. I love exploring the dreams they want to fulfill and helping them connect that to strategic next steps to see them become reality. Helping others take control to take control of their health, both mentally, physically and spiritually, is where I shine.
And while my business reaches people all across the country, my passion is for San Diego and this great community I live in. That’s why in 2013, my husband and I founded a new faith community in the heart of San Diego’s downtown called “Center Church.” Since then, we’ve seen lives transformed in significant ways while serving physical, social and emotional needs all across our community.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There have been plenty of obstacles along the way: naysayers and critics, financial challenges, exhaustion, discouragement and more. But the hope you build in others, the freedom created for your family and the dreams you accomplish will go well beyond you and yours. It’s worth it.
Nothing that lasts is accomplished quickly. You’re not in control of what happens to you, but you are in control of your decision to contend for your dreams.
I’ve learned that every moment is preparing me for the next. And time, plus consistent action in the right direction, will lead to success.
Not everyone will agree with you, nor approve of your path. But don’t focus there. Keep your eyes on the goal regardless of what gets in the way. I’ve imagined a dream, in intricate detail. I broke it down step by step, so that dream could become reality. It’s leading from the future, but acting now.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Jen Jones Direct – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I’m all about personal transformation. I write and speak and guide people on a path to see that transformation take shape. Jen Jones Direct resources others to take those steps and become the best version of themselves — physically, mentally and spiritually.
Often, people begin this process by taking physical health steps. I guide them through a structure and system that creates a healthy lifestyle, getting their bodies back in order. In the creation process, I’ve built communities for people to connect and thrive. This happens through digital content subscriptions and social media communities–connecting with people where they live, work and play. This enables them to sustain their new lifestyle changes, as well as find freedom emotionally and financially.
I believe my life is made better when I help other people win. And Jen Jones Direct has proven this to be true. My organization has been a part of enriching the lives of others and has grown into a thriving business in the process.
Often it feels as if the media, by and large, is only focused on the obstacles faced by women, but we feel it’s important to also look for the opportunities. In your view, are there opportunities that you see that women are particularly well positioned for?
Today’s high tech connectivity and social media focused businesses are tailor-made for dynamic women. I have found my voice as a woman gives me a strategic advantage in this space. The world is looking for a more meaningful connection that comes from a place of authenticity and vulnerability. And for the woman willing to live out and leverage her unique struggles and strengths, the horizon of opportunity is wide. This is her unfair advantage. And this is her path to make the world a more purpose-filled place.
