Today we’d like to introduce you to Jinely Reyes.
Jinely, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My passion for influencing and empowering others started as I grew older . I grew up with two Hispanic parents that did not have the opportunities I was brought up with. Once I understood the value of time over money, I began focusing solely on what made me happy. I then became intrigued with everything related to photography, fashion, and fitness. I realized that creating my best self-began with empowering my mind and fell in love with reading books on self-development. It wasn’t until my high school years that I found out what an “influencer” was. I couldn’t believe that you could make a living off of simply living your life and having others follow your journey all while inspiring. I loved the thought of being my authentic self all while networking with like-minded people. I knew then that I wanted to be my own boss and started my own freelancing business with photography and videography. I couldn’t believe how many people loved my work but knew it was because I was ultimately passion about it. I then started to step out of my comfort zone and officially dove into being an influencer. That step in my life made an impact on me. I learned everything to do with marketing which potentially landed me an internship to be a marketer for a nonprofit organization. Who knew that you could do a job that compliments all the things that you love to do?! All I can say is, those who look will always find a way. Simply, NEVER give up.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There’s no such thing as a smooth road. Even though my story may sound amazing, I had to fight through every obstacle that came my way. When you fight for your dream, I strongly believe the universe tests you on how much you want it, by making it difficult. One of the biggest obstacles I faced was being criticized and losing many friends along the way. At first, you feel like something is wrong with you, but in reality, it just means they’re not intellectually on the same level as you. And that is totally fine. Not everyone will see your vision, so you learn to be your own best friend all while meeting like-minded people who support you!
So, as you know, we’re impressed with your business – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I learned at a young age to never keep your eggs in one basket. By this I mean, don’t feel like your stuck doing just one thing. For example, I do freelancing photography and videography. I also do social media marketing for other businesses. Lastly, I am an influencer. The best part about that is you don’t feel restricted and I use each category as a creative outlet. All while having different forms of income.
Who have you been inspired by?
I have several women that have inspired me. They all have different qualities that I admire. Many of them are influencers themselves! One of them is Jaci Marie, I admire her work so much because she makes it as authentic as possible and her photos along with videos are mind-blowing!
