Today we’d like to introduce you to Karla Sarabia.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started modeling two years ago, my fascination for fashion and being behind the lens came to me I decided I wanted to put myself out there, so I did.
I became filming myself, doing my makeup, showing off my tips and tricks I normally do. I became more curious about where modeling could take me.
As a little girl, I was always so fascinated with fashion, trends, outfits, the beauty that these women transmitted in magazines, commercials and runways. I wanted to become them. I always wanted to be a creator till this day, I want to inspire other wo(men) share that love and passion I have for fashion, photography, makeup, and modeling.
I started my blog “Stylehauss” and started to create content of what I enjoyed doing, show my favorite beauty products, where I loved grabbing my favorite coffee, the discovery of new restaurants and it has taken me where I am today. I want to leave a footprint in this world especially for my 6-year-old daughter Mia, to see. I want her to grow surrounded by empowering, hardworking and inspiring wo(men).
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has, ever since I decided to go for what I truly enjoy doing.
It’s incredible how doors open, and opportunities arise. I’ve met amazing, talented and creative people along my journey that have taught me a variety of tips, that have shown me my potential and opened more possibilities for me that I had never imagined I had in me. Sometimes, it felt it was almost impossible for me to reach, due to there’s so much competition, and contract signed models, that were actually in an agency. I was far from competing or more likely to work with them. But I threw myself out there and my response was more than amazing.
As cliché as it sounds, my advice for everyone, not just woman, be unique in what makes you special from others.
I think it’s important to find yourself first, and then become the best version of yourself possible. Keep learning and improving every day in every way. It’s really easy to fall into that “stereotype” that keeps us from becoming ad showing who we truly are. Never be ashamed, shy, or even scared to throw yourself out there. Everyone has their special and unique talent. Don’t be discouraged, some of our possible “flaws” are someone else’s virtues. Keep your authenticity. be focused, take baby steps in who you truly want to become and become it.
Please tell us more about what you do, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I became modeling for local photographers, fashion boutiques, makeup artists and local businesses here in San Diego, Tecate B.C and Tijuana B.C. Mexico. I gained experience and self-motivation to open doors for myself and til doing it’s kept me doing what I love.
Today, I’m a model, content creator, public relations student and former blogger at “Stylehauss.”
In April of this year 2019, I was first published in a magazine, Creators Magazine to be exact.
This was accomplished thanks to one of my dearest friends and photographer “Adrian Tapia #adrianthephotographer.” I remember being a little girl, I always wanted to become a model and inspire the people around me. To get published has been one of the biggest milestones in my career and journey as a model and blogger.
Mainly why I do what I do, is to inspire wo(men) who are looking to embrace their creativity and improve their inner confidence, I wish that by watching me doing what I love, they can gain that inspiration that I transmit and help them get to wherever they want to be. For them to know If I can they can do it too.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts or other resources that you’ve benefited from using?
I have a variety of inspiration already from local artists, photographers, fashion designers, and bloggers. They are my main inspiration! I love how dedicated everyone is. That focus and love, on what they do inspire me to do the same. I also deeply enjoy Pinterest as another main source of content inspiration. I brainstorm and gather ideas, put them all together to create what I want to transmit to the world.
