Life and Work with Lisa Rooney

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Rooney.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My full-time career was in Radiology. As I saw the insides of people every day through imaging, I realized that I wanted the ability to help people prior to meeting them there, at the hospital.

I was competing in fitness at the time and started getting questions about proper nutrition and nutrition to get lean. Seeing how much mis-information there was out there on this topic and in the fitness industry, it inspired me to get certified in nutrition and publish a book. My book is called Everyone Has A 6-Pack, the Complete Guide to Revealing Your Abs.

My next step was to start my blog and take my presence online. So, https://lisarooney.com was born. Like most entrepreneurs, I struggled with knowing how to market myself, how to create an online presence, and how to do social media marketing.

I took my long journey (and expensive one) and condensed it for aspiring entrepreneurs. So, I’ve expanded my site into teaching entrepreneurship.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Smooth road?

Not a chance!

I failed, and failed, and failed my way forward. The only thing I wouldn’t do is quit.

If you’re taking yourself and your business online:

1. Show up with enough grit to do the business even on the days you don’t feel like it.
2. Don’t stay in learning without earning mode…
3. Find a way to become visible, develop a relationship with ideal clients online, and present an offer that solves an actual problem they have.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with your business – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I specialize in helping people get lean and healthy, more importantly, developing the mindset required to keep the results.

And I help entrepreneurs create time freedom by implementing systems in their business.

What advice would you give to someone at the start of her career?
Find out what your superpower is and stick with that. And don’t perpetually wait to become an expert. Some people sit at home and think “who am I to put info out there, I’m not an expert yet.” But who are you not to be? The average person only reads one piece of info on a topic. The average expert has read 4-5 pieces of content on that same topic. So, as long as you know more than the people you’re teaching… you are an expert.

Just do it, do it scared, but do it.
