Life and Work with Mariah Darshà

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mariah Darshà.

Mariah, please share your story with us.
I started off as an entertainment reporter back in 2013 and has interviewed some of our favorite celebrities in the industry from Kelly Rowland to The Game, and Floyd Mayweather, just to name a few. I began with my own media outlet MariahDTV and then grew to media correspond and work with larger outlets such as COMPLEX Live, Hollywood Unlocked, ABC – Radio Disney, Sony Pictures Ent. and more.

My passion for entertainment is still alive, however, my interest in fashion, lifestyle, and woman entrepreneurship has grown much larger than anything else. My passion lies in wanting to inspire individuals to be the best version of themselves; internally and externally. So, when I created my platform, I knew that whether I was talking about entertainment, or encouraging hard-working women to live there best live, that the energy I provided was always transparent and relatable.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Absolutely not. For me, I’ve always been so hard on myself because I’m always trying to reach that level of perfection. As entrepreneurs, we feel like we have to be perfect because ‘society says so’. Or better yet, because Instagram says so. There’s so much pressure nowadays to be the greatest and to be better than the person next to you. So there are two things:

1. Give yourself credit. We have to remind ourselves how far we’ve come and self-reflect to remember the hardships that we overcame. Being an entrepreneur is one of the hardest occupations to get into and knowing that should remind you that the journey will not be easy. But it’s the ones who push through and learn from their mistakes, who become the most successful.

2. We have to understand that you can NEVER be duplicated. You were uniquely created with your own purpose to be fulfilled in this world and no one can ever take that away from you. So remove all bitterness and competition because no one can ever do it like you.

My advice would be to focus on the purpose behind the brand and don’t lose sight of what/who you’re doing it for. This will help alleviate all distractions and help create self-motivation when you are feeling defeated.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Blog- MariahDarsha.com (Fashion, Lifestyle, and Woman Entrepreneurship) & Media Outlet- MariahDTV – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I am a Host, Fashion & Lifestyle Blogger, and Social Media Influencer.

Host: I am a Freelance Host/Media Correspondent. I am back and forth from SD and LA working red carpet events and covering celebrity gatherings. I have my own online show that features successful women in the industry who cover entrepreneurship, owning your social media presence, creating longevity within a business or brand, and more.

Fashion & Lifestyle Blogger: I feature blog posts such as #OutfitOfTheWeek, Fashion Favs and more to cover some of my top looks right out of my closet. I showcase looks that are curated on a budget and some of my favorites pieces from clothing brands. I also blog about my trips to LA, media coverage for events and more.

Were there people and/or experiences you had in your childhood that you feel laid the foundation for your success?
I actually never knew that I was going to be doing what I’m doing now. I’m from a small town called Modesto and I felt the only way to make it out and to become successful was to pursue a career that would bring me a guaranteed financial stability. So I went into college pursuing Cell and Molecular Biology and thought I wanted to be a doctor. I soon realized that I talk too much and that the lifestyle and journey through med-school was not going to be for me.  I wanted to socialize, build a community, get involved and inspire ones around me. I always was an outgoing person as a child. I was captain of the cheer squad, choreographer of the dance team, and even auditioned to be the emcee for my talent show. I loved being in front of people and making them smile. Seeing them happy, made me happy.

My mother was very involved in our community in my hometown. She made my sisters and I do a lot of volunteer work, public speaking, getting involved in our church, and even feeding the homeless. So, I knew I was going to be doing something big, but I never knew what it was going to be.
