Today we’d like to introduce you to Mary Gutierrez.
Mary, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I got started into energy healing after getting a diagnosis of Sjögren’s Syndrome a couple of years back. I wasn’t expecting that, it took me by surprise. I did not want to take medication for the rest of my life. I began to look for holistic ways to tackle this and improve my health. I started with taking yin yoga classes and that’s where I learned about Reiki. Not long after that, I went forward with becoming a reiki practitioner. At that time, I was still working as a mental health therapist. As I continued my own healing journey, I began to realize there was more I could do. I started to practice intuitive tarot readings, got certified as an Access Bars practitioner, Angel energy healer, and crystal healer. I was close to becoming a licensed therapist, but I knew deep in my heart, I had to follow my healing path and work.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has not been a smooth road. My own family was in shock trying to understand why I was leaving a really good career as a therapist to pursue being a holistic practitioner. My parents thought I was literally throwing away my education, a Masters degree in marriage and family therapy. But I took a leap of faith and ended up getting a part-time job (not as a therapist), to have more time to practice and grow. Of course, it was less money than I was making as a therapist. After living alone, I ended up moving back into my parent’s house for financial reasons. I’ve had many people judge me along the way, but I’ve stuck to what I know I am meant to do. That happened more when I began my shaman training. Imagine what my catholic family had to say!
I knew I also had to do my own healing work, not just for Sjögren’s Syndrome, but to finally heal from the traumas I experienced as a child. I had to set more boundaries with people to protect my own self and take my own power back. I embraced being a survivor of childhood sexual abuse. I was able to see how all the struggles I went through before really did make me who I am today. I won’t lie, at first, when I started to receive messages from Spirit (I channel messages from spirits), I freaked out. But I’ve learned to protect my energy and found out this was actually a psychic gift passed down from my mother’s side of the family. Facing fears, doubts, getting over feeling I wasn’t good enough, have been things I have stumbled upon and keep growing from, mainly the journey of loving myself. That is why I am so passionate about supporting other women on their own healing and connecting with their self-love.
My advice to other women is to go with what you love to do, what you’re passionate about. It’s easier to keep a regular job, but it’s worth doing what you really love and drives you. Don’t let anyone tell you it’s not possible. You have the power to do what your heart and soul want. But most importantly, do everything with love!

I am an intuitive energy healer and spiritual life coach. My mission and focus is on empowering and supporting women through their healing journey and guiding them to reconnect with their self-love in order to reveal their radiance.
I utilize many different healing modalities to support women in their own healing such as: Reiki, crystal healing, Angel energy healing, Access Bars, IET-Integrated Energy Therapy, tarot and oracle readings, and limpias (energetic spiritual cleanse). I have started offering workshops and classes, like New Moon and Self-Love, and cord-cutting meditations. I will be expanding my classes and workshops in the months to come.
Who have you been inspired by?
I have encountered many more women who inspire me lately, but in the end, my mom has been a true inspiration. She was diagnosed with two different autoimmune conditions over 10 years ago and has kept a positive attitude along the way, not allowing that to stop her. She is a strong, compassionate, humorous and loving woman. She has been doing her own healing work and has been very open to other holistic ways of healing. My own healing journey has also inspired her to look for more natural ways to live a longer and healthier life.
