Life and Work with Nancy Tran

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nancy Tran.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Nancy. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’ve been in the beauty industry all my life. My mom owned a salon growing up. I worked in her salon as a receptionist. After that, I just followed in her footsteps. I would try different career paths, but shortly experiencing different career paths, I realized my passion was in the beauty industry. With that being said my passion was eyebrows! YES! I said it… EYEBROWS!!! I found the love for EYEBROWS and it was my specialty. I also thrived being around clients and the people I worked with. It’s an absolute blessing to find a niche/profession that I was great at and had the ability to build relationships with my clients. When my son started kindergarten, I had to take the leap of faith and start my own business. As a single mother, I needed and wanted the flexibility for my son. Went out on my own and it has been so wonderful to be able to do what I love and be involved in my son’s life.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There were times, I had my doubts and struggles. I’m originally from Northern California and it’s just my son and me here in San Diego. No family. Just the friends I made here that became my family. I knew I was great at what I did but I had a fear of not making ends meet or providing for my son. Starting out was definitely scary. First several months was difficult, but I continued to push myself to go out and network. Every day, I would wake up and write down a plan on what and how I would generate and build my business. I would reach out to friends and family and put the word out there. Days where I felt discouraged, I would turn on youtube and listen to inspirational videos. I’m a firm believer in the law of attraction. Being positive and always believing in yourself. I started with little money, but I told myself as long as I made enough to have a roof over my head, food on the table, and gas to get my son to school and me to work, I’m already succeeding. One step at a time!!!

The advice I would give is:
1. Always keep pushing! When you have the love, passion, and dream for what you want to do… it will show and success will follow.
2. The thought of failure is scary, but I think it’s ok. Because if you really want it, you won’t allow yourself to fail and get to that scary place. Every day is just another opportunity. Failing is not a choice. Giving up is.

Please tell us about Brows Beauty and Bronze.
I do facial waxing, spray tanning, but my ultimate specialty is EYEBROWS!!! Waxing, shaping, and Microblading. Do you have brow dilemmas? I GOT YOU!!!! We all heard that saying “LEAVE IT TO THE PROS!” So, leave all your brow needs to this PRO… ME!!! To all the ladies and gents that have too much hair and need a good shape, I can do that. For all the others that over tweezed in the nineties, or was not blessed with thick full brows. I can micro blade hair strokes to give you fuller fluffier brows. Yes, you heard it right! FULLER. FLUFFIER. SHAPED BROWS! What’s great about microblading is it’s a semi-permanent tattoo the is done manually and last up to three years. Touch ups are needed every six months to a year. Touch ups are color boost. Since it’s a semi-permanent procedure, the pigment tends to fade over time due to skin type and regimen. Why it’s semi-permanent? The pigment that is used is a vegan dye and does not contain harsh chemicals. Microblading is done with a manual tool that only goes in a couple of layers deep into the dermis of the skin. Color will never turn blue, green, grey, or purple. Thank goodness! Not only I’m a pro at giving you the BEST EYEBROWS, but I also use only the highest grade of pigments, disposable tools, and am certified through the health dept.

Who have you been inspired by?
My mother! My mom was an immigrant from Vietnam and had escaped due to the war. She came over to the states with nothing. She was on welfare for several years and with that, she was able to go to school and get a job. She’s been through a lot and is an extremely a strong woman. She’s always been positive and grateful. My mom has been through a lot of hardships and struggles. Even hearing her childhood stories and where she is now is definitely motivating. She always tells me that she left because she wanted a better life her and for my siblings and I. United States gave her an opportunity and she worked hard to give us a dream.
