Today we’d like to introduce you to Nikki Raasveld.
Nikki, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’ve been a Realtor since 2008. When I told people what I was starting to get into, everyone told me I was crazy. We were in a market crash and Realtors were walking away from the business left and right. Fast forward almost 11 years later and I haven’t looked back since. I’ve been through market shifts, babies, a divorce and highs and lows that go with it all.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Easy road??..lol.. I think that anyone can identify a period in their lives where the struggle has been insanely real. In the middle of My Real Estate career I experienced a divorce. I had 3 small children, was told I was worthless, no one would want me, was left with a car that had engine issues and was about to take a dump any day. I was left with no money, my home was no longer mine , and I had no way to attain day care so that I could give my kids a life. I had lost everything. At the same time though, I gained it all back. I got myself back and for the first time in over a decade I could breathe again. So I strapped those boots a little tighter and went to work. I have helped more families in their Real Estate transactions since, than I had before. Being a Realtor is more than a pick me 🏼♀️ situation to me. I get it, I’ve been there, I have kids, I know that life throws hurdles and the process is stressful. So for me, it’s a joint adventure when I represent someone. We’re getting through the process as smoothly as I can make it for you.
The biggest piece of advice that I could give to any business woman out there is something my mom has demonstrated my entire life even to this day. And it’s this.. Get up, push through, find a solution and figure it out! Life is going to throw curve balls at you as long as you’re breathing in air. If a situation or circumstance comes, take your moment if you need it, but don’t you stay there!
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am a Realtor. I help people buy a dream, a hope a HOME of their own. I help people sell the biggest asset, the place where their kids grew, where babies were brought home to, birthday parties were held, Christmas mornings were had. I take this job very seriously! I know how to pull in the reigns when it needs to be done and act like a shark when it’s needed also! Customer service and helping my clients are the most import and best asset or value that I offer my clients!
