Today we’d like to introduce you to Olga Ginzburg.
Olga, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I moved to San Diego as a teenager. I was already an accomplished dancer in Ukraine. I fell in love with ballroom dancing at a very young age and spend most of my time at school or on the dance floor. When I moved here, the first thing I did was found a dance studio. I could not live without dance. The dance studio saw my potential and allowed me to work there to pay for my lessons. I was the youngest professional dancer in America. I had to compete with top dancers in the USA and I was holding my own. Since I had to pay for my training, I had to work. I did not speak much English so teaching dance was an incredible opportunity for me. This is how my passion for teaching dance started. I loved teaching others to dance. I love to dance and it was a natural progression for me.
Has it been a smooth road?
To be the youngest professional dancer and be in the top took a lot of work. I had work harder and put in longer hours than others. I didn’t have the luxury of rest. At the same time, I was building my own business. I loved working with dancers of different age and levels. I wanted to teach everyone how to dance. I wanted them to love dance as much as I did. That love and dedication allowed me to continue teaching to this day. I am a workaholic but I love what I do. My advice to others would be is to follow their passion and their dreams. I would tell them that success doesn’t happen overnight and there is a lot of ups and downs and lots of hard work ahead.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Step2Dance – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
Our studio teaches ballroom dancing. We have students of different age from young to mature. Our team is 100% dedicated to our students. Their success is our success and their challenges are our challenges. Our students know that we will do whatever it takes for them to succeed. We don’t just teach to invest ourselves in our students.
