Life and Work with Pam Campbell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pam Campbell.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Pam. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Moving to San Diego, from Hawaii, my first career was selling copiers. I was very successful and was in this industry for 10 years. As technology changed from analog to digital, I felt it was time to make a change. My brother-in-law introduced me to the mortgage business. I’ve had the opportunity to work for a Broker, Direct Lender and a Bank. I am now with a Correspondent Lender and love all the options I have to help by borrowers. I was born and raised in Kailua, Oahu and my family is still there. Known as the iLendGirl has been the best part of my business, bringing the Aloha spirit to everyone I meet to ensure a smooth and positive experience in their mortgage process.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
My years of experience has not been a completely smooth one. Since 2003, I have seen the ups and downs of the industry, including the 2008 downturn. My husband and I have lost property and have learned a lot from our experience.

I believe that change is positive and I am not afraid of taking chances and new opportunities. I know that it is my service that could make a difference, not any particular company. I am very thankful for my client referrals and networking partners that believe and trust me.

My advice would be to always have a goal. Find a mentor/manager that has your best interest to learn the market and grow. It’s a stressful business but a rewarding one in many ways.

What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of? What sets you apart from others?
I am licensed in California. I find it hard to specialize in any area, as there are so many lending options. I love strategizing and getting creative to find the best option for my clients. Whether a client needs help with their credit or a strong borrower in need of a quick close, I work with them throughout the process from start to finish.

I feel my branding, iLendGirl has been a big part of my success, as it’s perfect for me being from Hawaii. People will remember iLendGirl.

What sets me apart is my communication and my persistence to get things done quickly. I stay positive and keep my clients positive at all times. I feel a home buying process should be a positive one and remind my borrowers to enjoy the journey. My slogan: Mortgages made easy. You believe it. I achieve it.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts or other resources that you’ve benefited from using?
I have read many books and attend seminars whenever possible to keep me focused and motivated.

But, what really keeps me focused is my Vision Board. I believe in goals and creating what you want and finding the positive in everything you do.

The 12 Week year is a go-to book that I follow to keep me on track and reminds me to find balance in my life.
