Perrin, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Bare Brush Tan originated in Mission Beach back in 2014 as a place to come get the best possible organic airbrush tan out there!

We started selling affordable bikinis and the word spread like wildfire around SD county! So, naturally, we decided to open up another location in north county… South Oceanside on the corner of the 101 and Vista Way!

Currently, there is BBT1 in Mission Beach and BBT2 in Oceanside! Both locations specialize in organic airbrush tanning with a Bare Brush Boutique that offers items to compliment your tan!

Ultimately, I believe that tans, in fact, do have more fun and I always want to share a safer tan lifestyle with my friends, family, and San Diego!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Be persistent. I started out only spray tanning and I knew BBT had way more to offer, which is when I decided to go the retail route as well.

I created friendly environments for women to come to get an organic spray tan in & it has snowballed much more! The BBT brand empowers women of all types to have fun & feel confident in the skin they are in. It also promotes our clients to encourage other fellow females to do the same!

Never give up. Make mistakes and learn from them as you go!

Please tell us about Bare Brush Tan.
My goal has always been to make people tan & feel better than when they walked in. I love what I do and my clients can sense that I sincerely am there to make them feel & look their best!

There’s a wealth of academic research that suggests that lack of mentors and networking opportunities for women has materially affected the number of women in leadership roles. Smart organizations and industry leaders are working to change this, but in the meantime, do you have any advice for finding a mentor and building a network?
Be your own idol. Don’t get me wrong, looking to others for inspo is always allowed, but be your own muse! This way your originality shines through and it inspires others to be authentic as well! We all have something to bring to the table – never be afraid to start a trend, coin a silly saying or to be weird AF. Wave your flag and someone is bound to pick up what you’re putting down. <3
