Life and Work with Sarah Bruno

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Bruno.

Sarah, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve always loved to draw and create for as long as I can remember. I’m obsessed with my little girl, Nilla (and yes, she’s a dog), and she inspired me to start drawing again and focus on custom portraits. So, I started TravelingArrowArt in July of 2016 and the rest is history.

Portraits are my specialty! All drawings are freehand and original. I use an iPad for freehand drawings and high quality paper made in the USA or France for printing. I also offer free shipping to anywhere in the USA.

I love creating custom freehand drawings on my iPad, as this allows me to provide a JPG & PDF file of the drawing to my customers, in addition to a print. I give my customers the rights to the digital JPG & PDF art files of their custom art so they can do whatever they wish with them. For example, they can upload the JPG file on a photo printing site (like mpix, Shutterfly, Vistaprint, Snapfish, Mixbook, picaboo, etc.) to make a print, custom t-shirt, pillow, mug, etc. The possibilities are endless!

I hope you enjoy looking at my art. Please email me with any questions (travelingarrowart@gmail.com).

I absolutely love animals. I started donating 30% of all sales in 2018 to North Shore Animal League (www.animalleague.org), Best Friends Animal Society (www.bestfriends.org), and Rancho Coastal Humane Society (www.rchumanesociety.org). If you purchase from me, you’ll be helping the animals too 🙂

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s a struggle to stay relevant in a saturated environment when it comes to art. My advice would be to stick with it, do what you believe in, and keep fighting for your business.

Please tell us about TravelingArrowArt.
Portraits are my specialty! They make great gifts (and typically only take 1 – 2 weeks to complete). For all custom portraits, clear/ crisp photos (so I can see the detail) are requested & are only looked at while I draw freehand for any custom art.

What advice would you give to someone at the start of her career?
Be persistent. Sometimes you don’t succeed at first, but if you want it bad enough, you will.
