Life and Work with Sierra Everett

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sierra Everett.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Sierra. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
Originally from Carlsbad, California, I moved away from the area with family at just ten years old for my father to launch a chain of fitness centers. First stop was, St. George, Utah, as it was supposed to be the next, “boom town.” The recession then hit, and my family went bankrupt, my parents got divorced, and my father was diagnosed with Stage four Throat Cancer.

Knowing that I needed to help, I started working in my father’s gyms at 11 and got hired at my first official job, other than babysitting, when I was just 14. It was when my father beat cancer, that my mother decided it was time for us to make a move and start a new chapter, leading us to Las Vegas when I was 16 years old.

Las Vegas made me who I am today. I got into some trouble, but I wouldn’t trade the experiences I had for the world. At 16 years old I was accepted into a program called, “Teen Entrepreneurs of Las Vegas.” As I had been spending a lot of time going to local concerts as an escape, I was inspired to coordinate my benefit show and quickly found a passion for concert promotion/production. Due to the success of my first show, I was offered an internship with one of the most well-known Event Coordinators in the Las Vegas music scene at the time.

Wanting to help my mother and ensure that my little sister enjoyed her high school experience and the last few years of being a kid, I quit my internship and at 17, I graduated high school early to work full-time as an Assistant Manager at Zumiez, where I had been working since moving to Las Vegas. (Little did I know how important this would be for me as it was here that I met my fiancé.)

I spent seven years working in retail with multiple companies. I developed a love for wardrobe styling when I became a Personal Shopper with TOPSHOP in Las Vegas. When TOPSHOP TOPMAN San Diego opened, I took advantage of the opportunity and moved back home, to San Diego, as their Store Stylist.

Quickly realizing that people do not shop the way here as they do in Las Vegas, I had to find a career that was going to allow me to build a life for myself in San Diego.

My grandfather, Ray Wilson, is the original founder of 24 Hour Fitness, so I decided to give the family business a try. However, It did not take long for me to realize that the gym industry was not for me.

An old co-worker of mine reached out to me and asked if I had any interest in working for her Property Management company, I applied, and this position is what sparked my love for Real Estate!

Being able to find my clients their perfect new home while connecting and benefiting our community is why I love what I do. I am now a Realtor with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage and specialize in South Oceanside Real Estate. I have been in the South Oceanside area for three years and am proud to call this community my home. This is why I am so eager to launch my new platform where I have partnered up with a variety of local businesses in the South Oceanside area to provide my clients, followers, and subscribers with local insight + deals/discounts they typically wouldn’t find elsewhere!

Finding my career in Real Estate has not been a straight path, but I am so thankful for all of the experiences I have had along the way! I am extremely eager to utilize my skill sets in event planning and connect with even more local businesses in the area to coordinate events in an effort benefit the local community and give back to those in need.

I am a South Oceanside local, and this is my home, now let’s find yours!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No! No road is smooth. If life is smooth for you, you’re not living it right. Welcome the challenges, embrace the failures, allow yourself to learn from your mistakes. Just don’t give up! It’s about being able to see the light at the end of the tunnel when all else around you is crumbling. You can do it! Never stop obsessing over what you want, and your mind will find a way for you to make it happen. It’s in the moments that you are broken down and crying that you are going to become who you are and honestly, to me, that is a beautiful thing.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Sierra Rae Real Estate – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
What sets my business apart from others is what’s always set me apart from others. I am willing to do what others aren’t, and I put others before myself.

I don’t just see Real Estate as a business, Oceanside is my home, and I feel so fortunate to be a part of the local businesses in the area. With every successful transaction I have, I ensure that I am giving back to our community!

Who have you been inspired by?
I come from a family of inspiring women. The “don’t tell us we can’t, we’ll show you why we can” kinda women.. But we haven’t always been that way. Life has broken us down before getting here.

My Nana passed away from cancer a few years ago, but she is my queen. She was runner-up for Miss Universe and was the most beautiful women I’ve ever known, even on her last day here. My sisters and I always ask, “What would Nana do?”, as the answer will surely be one filled with style and grace.

My Mother is a badass bitch who has shown me not to take crap from any man and who has instilled in me the confidence that every mother should teach their child. No matter what it was growing up, my mom has always been there to tell me, “You’re Sierra Rae Everett, you can do anything!!” She is also the most caring and compassionate person in the world, and it is because of her that I have the heart that I do.

My sisters, my cousins, and my aunts… I’m just extremely lucky to have the group of ladies that I get to call my family!
