Today we’d like to introduce you to Sondra Drahos.
Sondra, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have been working in Digital Marketing since the early 2000s when I first moved to San Diego. I was working in traditional publishing and was able to jump into each social platform as they launched and really got to learn how to utilize them for marketing purposes. It was exciting to be able to take advantage of the opportunity to be involved from the ground up as far as being a part of launching into this space as it was developing.
Fast forward to now and I’ve been able to take my 20 years of experience and create a Digital Marketing agency that focuses on Social Media Management and Content Marketing. Our team is built of skilled women who are passionate about providing high-quality content to the small business community.
Has it been a smooth road?
I wouldn’t say it’s been a smooth road, necessarily, but throughout my career, I’ve traveled down paths that allowed me to learn from and meet people that have helped me in my journey and helped me grow in ways I never would have imagined.
I’ve had experience working for agencies as well as working on corporate teams, in-house as well as on startup teams that required finding and hiring new talent.
For those just starting out in their careers, I’d remind them that every job interview is a test for both parties. Go into those meetings to find out if the company is a right fit for you, rather than trying to fit yourself to be the “right” fit for them. Finding freelance opportunities can come with risks, as well, but sometimes those are the best launching pads to the next long-term or full-time gigs.

I’ve met many women who I continue to learn from and who have helped me feel more confident in my own abilities.
Over the years, I’ve worked for and alongside some truly inspiring women, including Kira Lynn of Kane Miller Books, Lauren Kelly at The Irvine Company and most recently, Marcy Massura of MM+CO.
I have been following and learning from so many strong women in the social media space who share their wins authentically while demonstrating the real work-life balance so many of us struggle with but also see as a normal view of what true success can look like.
