Stephanie, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
As an 18-Year-old mom with hardly any work experience. At the time, I was working long hours for a chiropractic office and missing so much time with my newborn. I knew I wanted flexible hours and time more than anything to spend with my baby.
My dad being a real estate broker always advised me to start a business that would provide a service that possibly many people wouldn’t want to do on their own. After our first tax return, we decided its time to start a small business.
Has it been a smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road for us especially because the carpet cleaning industry is predominantly all men. Being a young women in business I definitely took it upon myself along with my husband’s help to teach me the ins and outs of the industry by having hands-on experience from all our services. Another very difficult thing for me was to prove myself because I was so young people would automatically assume I was going to fail. I definitely used to negativity to fuel the passion for my business, which ended up becoming like another newborn baby. My biggest advice I would give to young women starting their business is, if you have an idea try it and do it, you won’t know the outcome until you try. Your business too like mine will become your baby because it will need your full attention, time, care and dedication.

I’m very proud of where my business is today. We specialize in upholstery, carpet, tile & grout cleaning as well as leather cleaning. I think what sets us apart from other companies is the passion we put into our work and we treat all our clients like family because we truly feel like they are. Most of our clients have been with us since we started 12 years ago, to know after so many years they still trust and use our services, means the world to us. Going the extra mile with honesty and quality will always be the way we run our business. I’m proud to know when clients see or hear our name they know it will be guaranteed quality work as well as exceptional customer service.
Often it feels as if the media, by and large, is only focused on the obstacles faced by women, but we feel it’s important to also look for the opportunities. In your view, are there opportunities that you see that women are particularly well positioned for?
I feel like as a woman, we can create our own opportunities. There are now so many groups of women coming together and helping each other out opening doors to networking and creating more opportunities for us, it’s pretty amazing what we can do when we work together.
