Today we’d like to introduce you to Tina Assi.
Tina, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Thirty years ago, I decided to attend cosmetology school and get my Esthetician license because I love skin, being able to treat it, and make a difference in people’s lives. I started at the bottom working at local spa’s in San Diego and gained much experience. In the mid-years of my profession, my career path led me to Anastasia. She trained me and opened the door to my eventual success. I worked for Anastasia of Beverly Hills for 7 years. Then, I wanted to enter in the medical spa industry. With lots of training under my belt, I decided to venture on my own, working with a medical director, Dr. Batra, which allowed me to perform services of a medical esthetician. I wanted to specialize in something other than eyebrows. Since I was very passionate about acne because I suffered from it myself, I started doing acne facials with great success. That led me to creating my own acne skincare line, TINA ASSI MEDICAL SKIN CARE, which is a line of medical grade product. It’s an amazing product that I use to treat acne along with facials.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Early on, it was not a smooth road. I had to start from the bottom working lots hours with little pay. But, with patience, experience and growing pains, I knew it would pay off one day. So, I stayed focused. Throughout the years, I also attended training sessions to learn the newest and hottest procedures and products on the market.
The best advice I can give someone starting in this field, is to be PATIENT, because “Rome was not built in one day”. It takes time and energy to learn and gain experience. But, I learned that over time and effort, it will pay off.
Please tell us about Skin and Brows by Tina.
My services include eyebrow waxing, tinting, hydra facials, chemical peels, micro needling, derma-planing, Yumi lash perm lift, and acne facials.
I am so proud of the success of my acne skincare line to help others that are suffering from acne.
What sets me apart from others is that I will not stop until I can get a client’s skin healed from acne. After that, I continue with a scar treatment to get rid of scars from the after-effects. Then, I will educate my clients on good hygiene and tips to keep the acne under control with facials and my acne products
Who have you been inspired by?
Anastasia Soare, the eyebrow guru of Beverly Hills, has inspired me the most. She came here with very little and achieved great success. Look at her now? she is an inspiration to many, and extremely successful. She became a household name. She had taught me a great deal of knowledge and made me believe in myself, which led be to success.
