Today we’d like to introduce you to Vasana Pham.
Vasana, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
As a little girl, I had always wanted to make people beautiful and happy. I found it very rewarding and satisfying when one was pleased with what I had done for them, whether it was picking out their clothes or assisting with cooking. I always felt the need to wanna help people and make a difference in their lives.
I pursued my career as a dental hygienist and have been working for La Mesa Dental since 2008. I love being a hygienist but I felt something was still missing in my life. So, I started my “pursuit of happiness” by doing makeup and then started doing professional bridal makeup. One of the brides I came across asked me, “have you ever thought about doing Permanent make up?” Of course, a light bulb turned on in my head. The rest is history! I now juggle being a full-time dental hygienist, being a mama to 3 beautiful girls and being a brow artist. I truly love it and feel so content with helping others with their oral health as well as making brows “fa-leek”!! I work along side with my cousin at B Studios Tattoo and it’s a wonderful feeling to have that comrade and to make brows beautiful together. 🙂
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No road is ever smooth to get to where you want to be. Everything takes dedication and sacrifice but the hardest l part is to find balance in pursuing your happiness. Don’t forget about the people that pushed you as well as support you. Without my parents, relatives, and husband, I would not be able to have 2 careers. Make sure you have a great support system but most of all make sure to have time to spend with your support system. Without mine, I have nothing.

I am a permanent makeup tattoo artist specializing in eyebrows at B Studios Tattoo. In the studio, I also work with my cousin Malina and Bo who are also artists. We also offer body art tattoos.
I am also a registered dental hygienist at La Mesa Dental. I work with Dr. Low. He is a compassionate dentist and definitely puts the needs of others first and foremost.
For both of these organizations, we are honest and hardworking individuals that definitely take pride in our work. We take care of clients and patients just like how we take care of our family. We live by the saying “treat others the way you want to be treated”
What advice would you give to someone at the start of her career?
If you want it bad enough… NEVER give up! Work hard and be honest, your work will speak for itself.
