Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrianna Franco.
Hi Adrianna, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
All throughout high school, I’ve always known I was going to do something in the beauty industry. There’s a lot of doubts and negative stigma on the beauty industry/beauty school. A lot of people see it as a low-income career and don’t take that profession seriously. Sadly, I didn’t have the support from my family and was pushed into the medical field. I was torn between wanting to make my family proud and also doing what my heart loved. I was confused for a year or two, which led me to drop out of college and work in dead-end jobs. Once I finally decided that I was going to go through with beauty school, covid-19 hit. As hard as the lockdown was because it pushed me back another year, it brought me to the world of skincare and medical esthetics. I graduated from esthetician school, and now I’m working at The SD Med Spa in Rancho San Diego. Walking in you will feel like you just walked into the finest Med Spa in Beverly Hills. The owners and our staff are some of the nicest and most welcoming people you will ever meet! You will always have a 5-star experience whether you’re getting a basic facial done by our amazing team of Estheticians or botox done by our lovey and trusty team Aesthetic Nurses.
My biggest and best advice to those who are looking to pursue their dream in the beauty industry or even those who don’t have the support from their family is to always choose you! Don’t listen to what others have to say about you because, at the end of the day, it’s your life and your happiness. As long as you put in hard work, stay confident, be a good person, and love what you do, then success will always follow you.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Everyone has a story, and I think that not letting the past dictate how you become but letting it motivate you to be the best version of yourself. The biggest struggle was learning to be ok with only depending on myself. Although I’d say I’ve always been very independent, I’ve always aimed to make others proud/happy. Not prioritizing my own needs or feelings only burnt me out, making me feel lonely. Once I began to accept and learn how to take care of my mental health/anxiety, I became a stronger and better version of myself. I think that learning how to understand your triggers and working on your toxic traits is the best thing you can do to become/feel more secure in yourself.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a licensed esthetician. I specialize in facials and am currently on my journey to becoming a medical esthetician. I currently work at a Med-Spa in Rancho San Diego, SD Med Spa. I help my clients achieve their best state of skin health. I feel so proud to say that I’m an esthetician because I do what I love by helping others feel confident. I never thought I’d be where I’ve always wanted to be for my career in such a short amount of time. I feel confident when clients and peers tell me I have a good and professional bedside manner. But the thing that sets me apart from others is my calm and soft personality. I always take pride in knowing my clients (and anyone in my life, really) can feel most open and comfortable with me.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs, or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I really enjoy using Instagram and TikTok to help promote myself. Instagram is great to help keep me up to date on the latest trends and as well as following the biggest professionals in my career. I occasionally like to read books or listen to podcasts to help me destress, which in return help me feel more balanced. It’s extremely important to do the things that make you happy and excited because if you only focus on work, then you will burn yourself out, which from experience, has only lowered my work efforts and even at times pushed me away from actually enjoying my job. So, it’s always good to find and maintain a healthy balance between work and your personal life.
