Today we’d like to introduce you to Alejandro Andino Vallverdu.
Hi Alejandro, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was born in Madrid, Spain, where my passion for tennis was ignited. Playing professionally led me to the USA on a tennis scholarship, where I pursued my four-year degree. Now residing in Oceanside, California, I’ve transitioned into the world of cinematography and Steadicam operation, capturing life’s moments with precision and creativity. When I’m not behind the camera, I indulge in my love for travel, pickleball, climbing, surfing, and cherishing moments with my family.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There are always obstacles on the way, and that is what makes us who we are! For me, I had to leave my family and friends back in Spain to pursue my career here in the USA. I go and visit quite often, but I’m happy with the decisions that led me to where I am today in my personal and professional life.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As a cinematographer and Steadicam operator, I specialize in capturing visually compelling stories that resonate with audiences. My work is characterized by a keen attention to detail, creative framing, and seamless camera movements that enhance the narrative. I’m known for my ability to translate the vision of directors into captivating visual sequences, whether it’s through dynamic action shots or poignant emotional moments.
What sets me apart is my diverse background and skill set, having transitioned from a successful career in professional tennis to the world of filmmaking. This unique journey has instilled in me discipline, adaptability, and a relentless pursuit of excellence, qualities that I bring to every project I undertake.
I’m most proud of the moments when my work not only meets but exceeds the expectations of my collaborators and audiences. Whether it’s receiving recognition at film festivals or simply knowing that I’ve helped bring a director’s vision to life, those moments of achievement are incredibly fulfilling.
Overall, I believe it’s my passion for storytelling, combined with my technical expertise and unwavering commitment to excellence, that truly sets me apart in the world of cinematography and Steadicam operation.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Finding a mentor is very important. However, not everyone has access or luck to find a mentor; in that case, just networking and surrounding yourself with people who are where you want to be will show you things they do, and that will help you get where you need to be
