Today we’d like to introduce you to Bao Ho
Hi Bao, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My grandpa, during his time in the military did a lot of photography related work. Of which influenced my dad to get his first camera when I was younger. Inspired by the story my dad told me about grandpa I’ve always wanted to get a camera. Which I finally did in early 2023 when I wanted to capture moment that I spend with my friends and getting into photography. That how I got to where I am now.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely not a smooth road. There’s a lot that you have to learn just like anything in life. I first start out learning how to use the tool that I have, the environment surrounding me. And most importantly trusting my instincts and visions. Of course, there always new things for me to learn.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialized in portrait photography, I also really enjoy doing concert related work as well. I think what set me apart is the fact that I really want to hone in and make the session a collaborative work. I’m currently a music student, which completely unrelated to photography work. However, as musician we do collaborative work and learn how to work with other musician. And that’s what I want to bring into the field. Collaborating with my client to bring their vision into life, of course I would give them my opinion but I would give the final say. And that’s also what I love most about what I do.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Photography is definitely a difficult field to get into and get clients. Because everyone have a camera in their pocket which drive down the need for professional photographer in a sense. At the same time photographer and their creative work are under appreciated as we are “too expensive”. But in 5-10 years I really want to get my own studio and do in house work. But I also want to create work that rival with the continuing developing technology like AI.
