Life & Work with Bizzy BalBoa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bizzy BalBoa. They and their team shared their story with us below:

Bizzy BalBoa

Bizzy Balboa’s journey as a rap recording artist can be traced back to her early years when her love for music was evident from a young age. Growing up in Valdosta, GA, Bizzy’s innate musical talent began to shine through, leaving an indelible mark on her future as an artist. Fast-forward to current years, Bizzy has defied all odds against her through perseverance and hard work. She’s performed in countless cities and states, been recognized and nominated for her musical contributions, and has shaped a future for herself in the entertainment industry through her music, journalism, podcasting, and more.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Being overly ambitious comes with disappointments. I’m not always able to do execute things the exact way I see them in my head. When I moved to San Diego, I had no one, barely any friends. I went through homelessness, mental and physical health challenges, domestic violence, and so much more. Even before moving to the west coast, there’s a long list of trial and error, but what I can say is that the more I isolated myself the better off I was. My issue has always been trusting the wrong people and mixing with people who I assume have my best interest at heart simply because they wanted to be around me. Nowadays, I am looking over my journey and incorporating what I’ve learned and experienced so that I can better navigate going forward.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Being a musical recording artist, podcaster, and author, while owning my own clothing brand is overwhelming, to say the least. I’m most proud that I am able to connect with people through my work and that people are able to resonate with the things I love to do. I’m most known for my big heart, which is why my brand and motto is “Big Luvv” There’s never a time I’m not willing to share my platform, my knowledge, and resources with the next artist/creative. What sets me apart from others is that there is no one like me, and I mean that with my soul. To even get close to me means you’re a special person because I am unreachable though many feel they have access to me every day. I show what everyone else is afraid to show. I speak on things most people would hide from the world. My wounds and scars have always been out on display because my heart is on my sleeves. What I don’t show is the nights of prayer, the mornings of tears and meditation, and the sacrifices to get to where I am and where I’m going. This is why people assume they are on my level because it looks easier than it actually is to be me. Perhaps that’s my fault for not showing the whole truth, but I like to keep some things to myself.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory is any memory that includes the loved ones that are long gone. My heart aches due to a lot of losses even though I know they are better off in Heaven than on Earth, there’s still a part of me that mourns them every day.
