Today we’d like to introduce you to Boris Amado
Hi Boris, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Well, I started in entertainment back in the 1990s working for George Schlatter productions as a production associate. Then I worked my way up into the tape vault, where I became the tape librarian, which led to me becoming the post production coordinator’s assistant.
I worked on such shows as: Frank Sinatra’s 80th birthday celebration, The 10th-12th annual American comedy awards. Comedy Hall of Fame. Caesars Palace 30th anniversary. The American film Institute honors, Harrison Ford and Dustin Hoffman (1999-2000).
But today in 2024 I am an author. I started writing film scripts and television pilots about 10 years ago, which led to my new love, which is writing books.
My most recent book was about the biblical character named Lazarus.
But my latest project is an adult fairytale called “Wolfenstein Grey: stories from the Den” which is like a pulp fiction type of fairytale. I should have it finished and published by 2026.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road is never smooth, and there are dangers lurking at every turn. The thing to do is to listen to those who have traveled here before, so as to avoid the quicksand and the pitfalls. And if you do find yourself in the thornbushes of life, stuck beyond belief… do not make yourself comfortable there. Get up and get out of the thornbushes, even if you leave flesh behind.
As a matter of fact, it’s better if you bleed and leave flesh behind because then you will have the scars to remember.. because it’s true, how quickly we forget
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have a few television projects in development. One of them is an adult animated cartoon called, The SophistiCats, by artist Trew Love.
The show is like Sex in the City, but with kitty cats. We have an excellent producer, Mattie Webb who is spearheading this project. So keep an eye out for our four wacky cat girls.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
The worst thing to do, in any situation, is panic.
And if you don’t know what to do…
…just keep still.
